Sam’s Club Vs Walmart: Which Store Offers the Biggest Savings On Ice Cream Treats?

We headed to our local Walmart store to compare the prices of buying in bulk from Sam’s Club vs. buying the smaller boxes at Walmart. Check out our clear findings below!

If I was paying for a membership and buying in bulk, I would expect it to be cheaper than Walmart.
Agree. And I think the price comparison should be done by full everyday price not the sale.

Hi there! Since the sizes of the boxes do vary by store, we calculated the final cost at each store based on a per item basis. Hope this makes sense! 🙂
The math will still come out better at Sam’s everyday price, if you buy the comparable amount at WM. Take Outshine bars. ONE 24 ct at Sam’s club = $9.98 (or $0.41 per bar) is still a FAR better deal than buying (4) 6ct boxes at Walmart @ $3.48 = $13.92, which still comes out to $0.58 per bar.
Does the Nestle Drumsticks have 16 or 24 per box?

You may want to check the description/calculations on that comparison. It looks like it’s listed as 24-count in the text.
Walmart owns Sam’s club. A lot of these bulk items can also be found at a Super Walmart for a similar price. Better comparison might be Sam’s Club vs. Costco or BJ’s. Although not everyone has one or the other in their regions. All our Sam’s Clubs closed a couple of years ago.
I think a comparison would be item for item, same quantity.

I was thinking that the Klondike bars are about $7 or $8 regularly at my Sams. Definitely a far better deal even at full price. I just wish they carried other varieties besides original. We buy them and the drumsticks frequently at Sams.

Does Sam’s still beat Publix BOGO? It seems like Klondikes have been on sale a lot lately at Publix.
Great question, MommySpendsLess! I was actually just looking at this last week when I was shopping at Sam’s as my kiddos love these ice cream treats. My Publix usually has them priced at $4.49 for a 6-pack. So you’d pay $4.49 after the BOGO sale which works out to around 35¢ per bar. So the better buy is definitely Sam’s. BUT, Sam’s usually only carries one flavor so if your kiddos prefer anything other than vanilla (like mine), you might be better off buying at Publix. Hope that helps!
My husband and I love the Sam’s Club gas. The prices are about $.25 cheaper per gallon and last longer in our cars with the same drive to work every day.
You forgot to factor in coupons. I have a $1.50 off one outshine and $1 off two.
I just can’t get over paying for a membership…………….
Do you have pets? We make our membership back in a couple months just with savings on pet food.
