Price is for the entire melon. Not per pound.

Hi there! If you bought a 3 pound melon at $1.99/lb, for a total cost of $5.97 and deducted the 25% Cartwheel from that, you would pay $4.48 or 1.49/lb as noted in the deals above. Hope that helps!

Hi, even though the cartwheel says per pound, melons are not priced per pound at Target. The prices you see on the signs are for the whole melon. Hope this helps all the melon lovers out there! I bought watermelon last week and it was delicious!

        • Patricia

By the way, the “ea” after the price means “each”. Please change post.
Thanks for all of the awesome posts about deals, life, and fun stuff!!

Yep you are right. I paid per watermelon and not pound. I find Target has the best watermelon.

You’re totally right, ladies! We updated the post. Thanks!

I was just about question the per lb. Ive never paid per lb for a cantaloupe or honey dew. Weird-lmao
*Except if it was already cut up by the store

My local Aldi had watermelons on sale for $2.89 last week. It’s definitely a good idea to shop around.

Target is way too expensive. To get the quote deals you have to use your phone. I can walk not Fresh Thyme and buy melons no on sale for 99 cents. Watermelons 2.99. Same goes for Aldi. I know This website loves Target, but for many of us it is not an option. Target has the highest prices on fruit and veggies.

i disagree in my Seattle area, targets watermelons are 3.99 and their cantaloupes are 1.99. Safeway is 7.99 for watermelon and 3.99 for cantaloupe. albertsons same as safeway. whole foods more. fred meyer has sales but regular price more than target. walmart in my city is gross so I don’t know their prices

When I first shopped at Target for fruit, I was surprised for the low price and got a big bag of peach. When I got to the cashier, she counted how many I got that when I realized it wasn’t by the pound, LOL. Had to tell her I didn’t want it.
