Anybody used these? I have a pregnant friend with severe nausea and vomiting every day, I sent it to her but if anybody has used it, it would help to know if they are worth it. Thanks!
I haven’t used these, but I have used the ginger chews before and they do help with nausea.
If your friend is willing to take prescription meds, she should ask her care provider for a prescription for Diclegis (known as Diclectin in Canada) or Bonjesta (similar med, just extended release). Approved by FDA and widely studied, with no known congenital malformations in fetuses.
Thank you so much, I sent her the message but her doctor already prescribed both and her insurance doesn’t cover them, it would be $1,000 a month 🙁
Have her google “DIY Diclegis” or “alternatives to Diclegis.” Before the medication was approved, lots of people went the DIY route and got, basically, the same thing at a much lower cost. (Of course, I need to add the disclaimer that I am not giving medical advice.)
It makes me sad that her insurance won’t cover the drug, but I’ll bet they’d cover it if she threw up so much that she got dehydrated and had to be hospitalized!!!!!
Thank you, i will let her know.
I know!! it sucks, she’s only 13 weeks, she’s already lost over 10lbs, she can’t keep anything down. That cannot be healthy for her or the baby.
She should also look at the Diclegis website under “savings” and look at the GoodRx site to see if that will help. If she’s already lost so much weight (depending on her prepregnancy weight), she may meet the criteria for hyperemesis gravidarum.
Poor thing!
Yes I have had hyperemesis gravadarium three times. Diclegis is vitamin b6 and unisom combined.both are otc so she could go that route if she’s able to tolerate pills.
Thank you, I will let her know.
I looked at the website and they have a card to lower your co-pay but that is if your insurance covers it. I’ll check the GoodRx too.
Thank you, I appreciate the help.
Got these to try. Thank you!
You’re very welcome!
Deal is gone.
Bummer! Thanks, Lin!
