It works for those who have never purchased an Amazon giftcard on Amazon’s website.
Received an update from Equifax: this is a snip it: “You can still choose the cash option on the claim form, but you will be disappointed with the amount you receive and you won’t get the free credit monitoring.”
The amounts apparently won’t be $125 with so many people filing claims. They suggest updating the form and getting the 10 years of credit monitoring instead.
I figured most people didn’t read the claim at all. There is a $31 million limit and if you divide that by $125, it’s only 248,000 people. Way more people than that are going to claim. The story has been everywhere.
