I’d love to hear more! Where do you get the pens & how long do they last? Is it easy enough for a teen to use? Thinking this may be good for my son to take notes (he takes extracurricular coding classes) and he can upload them when he gets home. does the ink smudge on the pages?
Sorry, I know I’m not the initial recipient but I own one too and think I can be of some assistance. The Pilot FriXion line are available at pretty much every major store (I bought mine at Target, but I know Walmart has them, too; any office supply store should also carry them). They’re a little pricey (a little over $1 per pen) but they have all kinds of different types, including highlighters, and all are erasable, which is pretty cool.
I think this would be perfect for a teen, as the uploading process is straightforward and easy to set up. As for smudging, it will smudge if rubbed right after writing, but after about 15 seconds, becomes “permanent” (until, you know, you wipe it off). The only “issue” is that it doesn’t really feel like traditional pen and paper writing (it feels like you’re writing on glossy paper), but assuming they don’t care about that, this would be great for them.
Hi. I find it easy to use. I love the transcription feature. It takes a little practice to write clear enough for the transcription to be accurate. As for the pens, I get them at Michaels using the 50% coupons since they are pricey.
