Meet Disney Wish, Disney’s New Fairytale-Inspired Cruise Ship
This week, Disney announced both a new island destination for its cruise line and a new cruise ship as well! The company also shared a peek inside the new ship’s interior and revealed which iconic Disney character will be riding along on the ship’s stern.

Disney chose the D23 Expo as the venue for the big reveal, naming Disney Wish as its fifth Disney Cruise ship. Its atrium will be an expansive space inspired by the beauty of a Disney fairytale.
The rear of each cruise ship in Disney’s line is traditionally adorned with a character that reflects the theme of the ship, and Rapunzel was chosen for Disney Wish. She’s shown hanging by her enchanted hair as she paints the stern of the ship with the help of her sidekick, Pascal.
Disney Wish is scheduled to set sail in January of 2022. Like the other ships in Disney’s fleet, a cruise aboard Disney Wish promises the adventure of ocean cruising, the magic of Disney entertainment, and the relaxation of tropical beaches. Powered by liquefied natural gas, this vessel will have 1,250 staterooms for guests, making it slightly larger than both Disney Dream and Disney Fantasy.
Disney also shared details regarding its second tropical destination in The Bahamas. The new port will be located on the island of Eleuthera at a place called Lighthouse Point. This destination is expected to celebrate both the history of The Bahamas and the natural environment of Lighthouse Point itself. Disney plans to work with local artists to merge Bahamian culture with Disney magic.
Disney will be directly involved in conservation efforts to preserve and protect the environment on the island of Eleuthera. Construction at Lighthouse Point is expected to begin in 2020, but only after an Environmental Management Plan has been accepted by The Bahamian government. Disney hopes to complete the project by late 2022 or 2023.
So excited for this news! My family toured Europe this past summer on the Disney Magic and already booked another cruise for next May on the Fantasy! It’s an expensive vacation but worth every penny!!!’
That gave me chills, Sam! I bet you had the BEST time with your family! I hope your next Disney Cruise is just as great!
If you are a Costco member I would always check there before booking. It was the same price as disney but we got a $300 costco card after the cruise. (it tells you in advanced what you earn)
Wow thanks!
