Stetson with Popeyes chicken sandwich

If you haven’t had the opportunity to brave hour-long lines for a taste of Popeyes new chicken sandwich, then you’re gonna have to wait even longer! The Popeyes chicken sandwich is officially sold out, at least for now.

The company recently announced that “extraordinary demand” for the sandwich caused them to sell out just two short weeks after its nationwide debut on August 12th. Popeyes anticipated that their original inventory would last through the end of September, but a social media-fueled craze caused long lines and dwindling supply.

So the good news is that it’s not gone forever!

Better yet, when the chicken sandwich returns to the Popeyes menu, it will be reinstated as a permanent fixture. If you want to be notified when the sandwich returns, the company suggests that you download the Popeyes app (iOS or Android) and turn on push notifications.

In the meantime, you may want to drown your sorrows with this chicken sandwich that we like even better than Popeyes… 😉

I mean you have chicken, is the bread and pickles the issue? I am just happy I can go back to delivering for ubereats and not rejecting all Popeyes orders lol.

Thank you! I will not even go to ours any more. Every time I go for lunch they are always out of chicken. 🤔 isn’t that what you sell? How are you out of chicken? It’s lunch time, drop more chicken in the fryer! It makes me insane. 🤬

      • Kitty

Pretty sure they mean they don’t have some fresh ones out but I personally rather wait a bit for hot and fresh than get old chicken.

If they wanna make money… it’ll be back lol

    • Daniela

And that is fine, I love their food, but don’t create a Black Friday frenzy on Fingerlings level and not deliver on the promise. How are you going to post on your social media page that it is better than XYZ but not have product for anyone to compare lol.

I will definitely be trying it next time they have it. Hopefully it’s better than their tenders. Once I had Raising Cane’s tenders, Popeye’s weren’t as good and I haven’t found a place that can top Raising Cane’s tenders.

I went to popeye’s exactly once. They were having a chicken fingers deal going on.
They were “out of the promo items”, they still had chicken fingers and fries but they couldn’t sale the deal.

It was ridiculous. I’ll never go back.

I’m not a fan of Popeye’s, but that chicken sandwich was gooooooood!

  10. Seph

My coworkers and I went today to try it together but there were not one, but -two- handwritten signs on the window saying they were out

Have you guys tried the spicy chicken sandwich? How spicy is it? I tried it and it is NOT spicy at all. What do you guys think? Unless they gave me the classic chicken sandwich? Richmond VA popeye here.

    • KKN

I had a chance to try both since one is 5 minutes away from me. My husband waited for 20 minutes for the sandwiches when this location is normally dead. I thought the spice level was lacking too but overall the spicy sandwich tasted better than the classic. My husband, who is a Chic Fil A Red member lol , actually love both sandwiches. Way juicer and crunchier than what’s out currently in the fast food market.

My honest opinion i think i like the chick fil a spice better than popeye, although popeye chicken has more crunch to it but chick has more kick.
