Costco pumpkin pies in shopping cart

Everything’s bigger at Costco, including pumpkin pie! 🥧

If you’ve been following the arrival of pumpkin-spice-everything over the past several weeks, then the following news will come as no surprise to you. It’s worth mentioning, though, that Costco’s bakeries are already selling their famous and ginormous 58oz pumpkin pies! Although it may seem a bit early to be rolling out Thanksgiving desserts, they must be as excited as we are about all things pumpkin.

We spotted this holiday favorite at Costco over the weekend, where it was selling for just $5.99. Although the price may vary depending on your location, this seems like a great value, considering the pie weighs over 3.5 pounds and can feed up to 12 people! 😱 Could you even bake that much pie from scratch for $5.99? 🤔

Not a member of Costco yet, but want this pie? Now through September 17th, new Gold Star members will receive a $10 Costco Shop Card when they purchase their membership voucher online. Even better, Goldstar Executive Members will receive a $20 Costco Shop Card!

pumpkin pie at Costco

If it’s your turn to bring dessert this Thanksgiving, a Costco pumpkin pie seems like a great choice. It’s enormous, affordable, and (judging from fond memories of last year’s pies) delicious.

Hip tip: Don’t wait until the last minute to buy one of Costco’s pumpkin pies, as they were nearly impossible to find the day before Thanksgiving last year! Try buying your pie up to a month in advance and storing it in the freezer.

Simply remove the pie from its plastic shell (leaving it in the aluminum pie tin), and wrap it tightly with plastic wrap. For extra protection, add a layer of aluminum foil to the outside. Two days before Thanksgiving, move it to your fridge to thaw.

Are you a fan of Costco’s pumpkin pie (or is it too early to even be thinking about such things)? Let us know in the comments below!

  4. sara

my weakness!!!!!!!!! I need to find a healthy recipe to get my fix!!

  5. Kristy

We get these for our past real estate clients for the holidays. They are always happy to receive them and it’s plenty for a family.

    • Jennifer (Hip Sidekick)

How nice! That’s a really nice gift, Kristy!

  6. sara

thanks for your response, but that recipe is probably just as bad as the Costco one. I really love H2S, but the keto thing is not a good match in my opinion. The recipes I see on here really aren’t that healthy.

    • Jennifer (Hip Sidekick)

Another healthier idea would be to make a whole wheat pie crust, use low-fat milk and stevia (instead of sugar), but it might change the consistency or cooking time. I’m a HUGE pumpkin pie fan, sara!

    • Rae

I used almond milk and stevia and no crust. Still used egg. There are a few recipes on Google. Choose one with a good rating. Pumpkin pie is pretty easy to make substitutions on.

      • Jennifer (Hip Sidekick)

        Thanks, Rae!

    • Suzanne

I make what I call ‘pumpkin pie pudding” for my son. Use the Libby’s pumpkin pie recipe but reduce the sugar by 1/3. Pour into an 8×8 lightly greased pan, no crust needed. If I don’t have condensed milk I’ve also used just 1% milk, 3/4 of what’s called for. It’s actually a decent breakfast food.

  7. S

Love this pie! Can’t even make one for this price!

  8. L

Can you cut these into individual slices and then freeze?

    • tipaye

I really do scratch my head at some of these questions 🤔

      • selah

Do you know the answer? You expend the same amount of energy being snarky as you would just answering the question.

        • tipaye

Feel free to take your own advice 😉

    • Ann

Yes you can, we do every year since there’s only two of us

  9. Deidra

I’m wondering about freezing too. For Thanksgiving of course! 😊

    • tipaye

      Directions for freezing are included…

  10. Keila

  13. LuvtoSave

No Costco membership here just Sam’s. Do they have anything similar?? TIA!!

    • Jennifer (Hip Sidekick)

I see a similar one here, LuvtoSave!

    • Gina G.

LuvtoSave, we don’t have a Costco near us but I wished they did! I do know that Sam’s Club does have pumpkin pie but I’ve never tried it and I don’t know how big they are. 🙂

  14. Justine

I don’t mind going without pumpkin spice food & drinks, but I have to buy at least 2-3 Costco’s pumpkin pies throughout the holiday season. They are my favorite of all the store-bought pumpkin pies. It’s something to do with the fact that the pies are sweet, they don’t go overboard on the spices, and they are quite moist – not dry like other pies. And what a deal! That’s a lot of pie for your dollar!

  15. Bonn

Will have to try this pie! What a great price too!
Costco Apple pies are amazing too!! 🍎

    • Amber (Hip Sidekick)

Hope you love the pumpkin just as much!

  16. Lizzie

Best pumpkin pie around! This pie is one of the reasons I keep my Costco membership. My favorite part of Thanksgiving.

    • Amber (Hip Sidekick)

Oh wow! Glad you have enjoyed it, Lizzie! I’ll have to grab one this year!

  17. Van

Is this the best membership promo they do?

  18. Deb

Just bring me a fork! Ha ha

    • Jennifer (Hip Sidekick)

      and whipped topping!

  19. Steph

The only pumpkin pie I will eat! Seriously the best one out there. I want to add that here in N. Cali they are $7.99 so they do vary by location.
