This may seem like a dumb question but what’s the difference between 100% pumpkin, and pie mix? Like what extras r in the mix? (I don’t generally eat pumpkin or pumpkin pie, but I may make some for hubby.)

    • Jennifer (Hip Sidekick)

That’s a great question, Krystal! Pumpkin Pie mix already has the spices & sugar added. Normally you’d have to mix 100% pumpkin with spices like cloves, cinnamon etc. With Pumpkin Pie mix, you’ll just add eggs and evaporated milk!

Pumpkin seeds are not “pumpkin.” LOL!

    • R2

I think that is still a seasonal product.

I always keep this on hand in case pets have tummy issues. Firms up stools nicely if ever needed and both dogs and cats live it mixed in wet or dry food. Good for upset stomach too. DO NOT however use pie mix for this purpose!

    • Jennifer (Hip Sidekick)

I agree on the regular pumpkin – but definitely not the mix with the extras in it! We fed my Corgi a raw diet and that was always included, Margaret!

Also, this is carried year round in other grocery stores, but not Aldi. I stock up for the year now because its on sale now and into the Christmas season.

  5. Rachael

Aldi has a pumpkin cheese roll that is yummy!

    • Jennifer (Hip Sidekick)

I think I’ll be heading to ALDI tomorrow, Rachael!

I’m so glad you mentioned that. I was wondering if the pumpkin roll was as good as it looked. I ALMOST bought it yesterday. I picked it up and looked REAL hard at it, but then talked myself out of it just because of how delicious it looked and i thought I’d eat it all in one day.

  6. Beverly

I’m hoping for pumpkin spice coffee too!
