Does anyone know the difference of these 3 programs? Thanks in advance.
Barb, a lot depends on what you have as investments/deductions, self-employed, income, etc. Example, we own investment property and need the premier version.
Does anyone know the difference between this and online?
If you make less than $69,000 a year, you can do the online version entirely free regardless of your situation. It’s available through the actual IRS website. If you earn more, then this is likely the more valuable option. Also, the online one for me – was a nicer walkthrough on the website and I instantly filed through my state & federal and paid etc.
Lisa, thank you! We’re empty nesters with not a lot of deductions anymore, so this helps in knowing what package to buy. I hate to spend more money if I don’t need the premier. Thanks for your reply.
As an tax accountant, i think unless you just have a w2 and maybe a small amount of interest, this is worth it . But i cant tell you how many people lose out on so much when they have a child going to college, take out money from a 401 k for an actual allowable reason, or so many other issue. If they are self emp!oyed and dont understand what can be deducted. Also, if you get a letter from the irs, it is nice to have someone help you.
I have been doing this for 8 years and cant believe how we get more back. You want an experience tax accountant with several years of experience. Just my input.
