Toyota Recalls Nearly 700,000 Vehicles Due to Fuel Pump Concerns
There’s another vehicle recall in the news!
Toyota is conducting a safety recall involving certain Lexus and Toyota Vehicles. Approximately 696,000 vehicles from model years 2018-2019 are involved in this recall. A complete list of the affected models can be found here.
The company reports that affected vehicles may be equipped with a faulty fuel pump which could stop operating and cause the vehicle to stall, increasing the risk of a crash. Consumers are warned that if this were to occur, warning lights and messages may appear on the instrument panel and the engine might “run rough.”
Toyota is currently investigating this issue and working to develop a fix, which will eventually be made available at no cost to vehicle owners. All known owners of the affected vehicles will be notified by first-class mail by mid-March.

Thank you for this update. My Highlander stalled out twice in traffic almost causing me to wreck and then ran rough after. I had it fixed about 6 months ago before the recall. Don’t wait on this, take your car in ASAP for safety.

My car is on the recall list but Toyota does not have a remedy. So, I can’t take it to Toyota and get it fixed. I drive 90 miles each day on the highway.

Posting in case this helps someone. My daughter has a 2017 Hyundai Elantra. Her car kept stalling and hesitating intermittently. The checkengine light wouldn’t stay lit and so the dealer could never get a code. Dealer said it was bad gas and wanted to charge $500 for a fuel treatment. Turned out to be the coil pack. She has had two replaced now. Mechanic told her that it is common for that year- they were defective straight from the factory. I wonder if Toyota and Hyundai both used the same parts supplier. Not picking on Hyundai. My son has a 2005 and I have a 2009 Hyundai Elantra both going strong with no problems.
