Be aware, the Dutch oven is enameled cast iron. I’m not sure about the rest, but would say they probably are too. So if you’re looking for regular cast iron, you will want to pass on this.

I’m not familiar with cast-iron, what’s the difference between (pro’s and con’s) of coated vs uncoated cast-iron?

It depends on the quality. Enameled cast iron is prone to chipping but the enamel won’t rust. Avoid too high heats and metal utensils that may scratch the surface. A good enameled one will last years. Staub and Le Crueset are high quality take high heat (you can fry in them).

A bare cast-iron (non-enamel) has to be seasoned but once it is is truly non-stick. You shouldn’t cook anything tomato or wine based in them because it takes off the seasoning. Just google how to season. If you want to try go to yard sales or thrift stores and pick them up for pennies—very easy to clean and reseal. Bare metal cast iron will definitely rust if not seasoned and cared for properly. I have my grandmothers frying pans and Dutch oven and use all the time and they are over a hundred years old. Go from stove top to the oven with ease. No worries about chipping and can use metal utensils. It’s very heavy but holds heat well. If you buy enameled go high end because they don’t chip as easily. The advantage is there is no seasoning. They are much lighter and more visually appealing as well. That’s once over lightly an explanation.

So everything I’ve seen, from the ads to promotions say this dutch oven is enameled. But someone who bought one said that it was not and she returned it. Just make sure to check it out before you buy. It’s pretty for sure.
