This asks for my social security number in order to sign up and wants a paystub. Seems fishy.

    • Gloria

Yeah its asking for way too much personal information.

      • Carrie

Agreed. I would be ok with a request for name and medical license number but beyond that is too much. Seems like a scam!

        • Jennifer (Hip Sidekick)

Hi all! This is not a scam. ID.me is a platform used by government agencies and healthcare organizations to verify identity. I am military and we use it. You only have to do it one time. I did add more information in the post if that helps.

    • Jamie

ID.me is a safe site. They are used as a platform to identify certain personnel through many sites.

  2. Rebecca

ID.me is legit…they need that info to verify your eligibility. We are military and have used it for numerous things👍

  3. Michal

What type of documentation are we supposed to provide?

  4. nicole

I work in a nursing home but I guess nursing home workers aren’t eligible 🙁

    • tracy

      Nursing home personnel are included

    • Dona

      Yes you are!

  5. Gian

Gas is cheap anyway these days… thanks for the info though…

  6. Maru

Way too much personal info is required. Can I just go to a Bp and show them my badge?!?! Get my code from them?

  7. az2nh

My hospital does not populate and when I add my work email it says it’s not valid 🙁 Is this for a certain geographical region?

    • Katelynno

It said the same to me.

  8. RaeDee

My hospital was not listed but I entered my ufl.edu address (I work for a university-based hospital) and they instantly sent a confirmation email. No SSN, just birthdate. HTH

  9. kayla

Wish they would do things for grocery workers, gas station workers and other essential workers too. Wouldn’t be any gas if it wasn’t for the fuel drivers.

  10. Morrissa

ID.me is worth setting up. A lot of sites use it for verification, including GovX, which offers great deals. I was happy to see Dispatchers included, as we are often left out!

  11. Lenny

I was about to do it, and like others I never feel comfortable giving that much personal information. It may be legitimate, but I just can’t take that chance to save a few bucks.

  12. Nicole221

Mine didn’t ask me for anything but my hospital email. Once I went through the steps it didn’t give me a gas code but did offer me others. Gas is cheap but I have been cut to 18 hours a week for emergent medical only so every penny helps! Thanks for sharing this Hip2Save 💜

I just “registered” on idme.com//// I am an RN. I gave all of the information, was reluctant at first, but a friend of mine who is EMT got her code and uses the HIP2SAVE site a lot.. so I figured… OK.. Well, Thanks Idme.com// THANK YOU for congratulating me that YAY! you verified I am indeed an RN. BUT … I didn’t receive a code to use.. so now.. I feel like an idiot and am rather disgruntled because I feel like I have been scammed… Oh well… you have my personal information now, so thanks for screwing me!

I searched for “BP” while logged in and the options came up for me.

Of course, I have a Costco membership, so gas is just as cheap there at $1.50 (BP is at $2 before the code)…

    • PH

I did not get an email code either, I don’t believe it emails even though site it says it does. I went back on the website and clicked on get my code after entering all the information and there was my code. So it does work, just don’t expect an email.

  15. Michele

Thank you. I just paid .85 cents a gallon.

  16. Susan

I filled out everything as required and have not heard anything back yet. This was 2 hours ago. I hope this works for me.

  17. Susan

Update, this did work! But I had to use my email from work to verify it! Just FYI! Thanks hip 2 save!

    • Chelsey (Hip Sidekick)

So glad you got it to work Susan!

  18. JoAnn

You may want to rethink this offer. I filled in all required information. A lot of personal information only to be told my qualifications can’t be verified. I am feeling scammed- I am going to contact BP-

  19. cincotta

I was not asked for my SS number when I entered the info. Just name, DOB and verified the email address (through my work email) and it instantly gave me the code.

  20. Amanda

I only see 4 categories. Health care workers are more than just nurses and first responders 🤷‍♀️

  21. Valerie Simmons

Is this a one time code or can you use it multiple times?

    • Amber (Hip Sidekick)

Good question! Here is what I found listed in the details – “limit 2 discount codes per user.” Hope this helps!

    • connie taylor

depending on which bp i talk to, i get different answers. im a paramedic , how many times can i use the gas discount code ? one bp said the code was good until the carona virus ends, please clarify.

  22. Allison

Doesn’t work for Surgical Techs 🙁

  23. Tawnya

I tried going to i.d. me with my badge. I dont like how they ask for your ss# but I gave it anyways. They then responded after I gave the all of my information including my hospital I.D. badge that they couldn’t verify me. I hope this is a legitimate site, because now they have all my pertinent information. I have a friend that is an RN and they did the same to her. So be cautious

  24. Jamie Daley

Yes, like others said, there are many others on the front lines besides nurses. I provide physical therapy to patients in their homes who have just come out of hospitals who are high risk for COVID-19 exposure thus so are we. Occupational Therapists, Speech Therapists, Social Workers all on the front lines. I love our nurses and they deserve help as well, but don’t forget about all healthcare workers who are risking exposure to themselves and to their families with no incentive, no raises, no benefits and no proper personal protection equipment at all. And most of our companies are basicaly just saying risk your exposure with no help from us and if you get sick you have to use all of your vacation time and if you are still sick then FMLA and if you still need more time well… no options, no support.

  25. Lauren

I am an NP licensed in 2 states… tried to verify using all 4 of my license #s (2 NP, 2 RN) as well as with documentation, and it never worked. Tried on both phone and computer 🙁

  26. bamafan244

You should get an email saying you are verified. Then you go back to the site and click get my code and it gives you the code. Has discounts for many other things on their site.

  27. Karlee

I work at an orthopedic office but it’s not listed 😩

  28. Lisa

Can’t get this to work. It won’t accept my RN license number. Gives me an error message saying it’s missing a suffix of some kind…

  29. Angela

I used it successfully 2 weeks ago, but today after following the same process, there was no discount. I think it is meant for one time use by the wording.

  30. Tiffany

it worked for me. I did not use an ss number. I used the code this morning

  31. belinda

filled in all the information they asked for and never received a code
