You have to be a Rewards member (it is free), and they send you an email with the accrued rewards each quarter as long as you have more than $5. It looks like a regular staples coupon.

“Rewards are issued online monthly at staples.com/rewards in increments of $5. Monthly balances of less than $5 will rollover through the end of the following calendar quarter. Unissued Rewards will expire at the end of the following calendar quarter, unless a qualifying purchase is made. Rewards are issued within 30 days after the end of the calendar month. “
To any Staples shopper … question? Would I be better off ordering 5 reams for $25 and getting $20 back at one time. (paying $1/ream)? Or does the $19.99 round up to $20? (i.e., is the penny prohibiting me from getting $20 back on this transaction?). I don’t do a lot of shopping at Staples, so not certain when I would do another “rewards” transaction. Thanks!!

Hi. Everyone knows if I can use rewards to buy anything else at staples?
I always use my rewards to buy ink and office supplies. There are a few restrictions including not being able to use them on gift cards.
if i used my current reward ($x) to buy $20 papers, so I pay 20-x in the end (or zero if x>20:).
would I be getting back $20, or 20-x?

Staples hasn’t done this deal in awhile, but from what I remember, you don’t get back rewards on any coupon amount. So if you used your rewards to pay, you would not get any $ back. Better off paying out of pocket and then getting the reward.
No! You never want to use rewards to pay for items that earn rewards. You won’t get any back.

No minimum spend. If you use it for online shopping, you need to use all of it. In store they will issue remaining balance coupon.
