Target has a BIG announcement!

Just when we thought Target couldn’t get any better, they are now adding 750 more items to their same-day store pick-up services, and these items include fresh and frozen groceries!

You’ll be able to order produce, dairy, bakery, meat and frozen items online along with all your other Target items, and then pick-up in-store or use their convenient drive-up services! That’s great news for anyone trying to avoid shopping in stores!

Steaks at Target

The expanded selection of grocery items are expected to be available for shopping at 400 stores by the end of this month and will be rolled out to include 1500 stores nationwide in time for the 2020 holiday season. That’s over 80% of Target stores! Awesome!

Hi, this is great news! Does anyone know when is this service being added? I placed a ‘pick up (drive up)’ order today and those options were not open for the produce. Is this only some areas?
    Thanks !!

    • Stacy F (Hip2Save Sidekick)

It is going to be rolled out to 400 stores by the end of this month. Hopefully, your store is included. Another 1500 stores (80% of all Target stores) will be included by the end of the year.

      • Nono F

Thank you so much for replying. fingers crossed! This service saves me so much time shopping and love doing drive-up. So excited for this option!

  2. Rebecca

Yes!!! Hopefully mine gets it ASAP! Would be great if they would allow alcohol as well, but not holding my breath 😂

  3. Suzanne

So happy to hear this!! I’ve been waiting and hopeful they’d start!

  4. TwoLittleMonkeys

They have to if they’re refusing entrance without a mask…they have to be able to accommodate people who can’t wear them in their stores and this is how they’re doing that.

    • Gege1804

      Have to? 👀

      • TwoLittleMonkeys

Yeah something to do with ADA I believe?

        • Kema

Nah … as someone with an actual disability not wanting to wear a mask is not a disability. I don’t know any disability that effects your ability to wear a mask. I wear a mask. The mask annoys me because I have to make sure my hearing aids don’t fall out if I need to take the mask off and it makes it harder for me to communicate with people. Don’t confuse not wanting to wear a mask with an actual disability cos it’s not.

          • Em

To add to that – for those for whom standard masks are restrictive, you can still use a face shield.

            • Callie

Face shield does nothing to protect others if you sneeze!

COPD interferes with the ability to wear a mask. I have a friend with COPD. She passed out in the middle of Walmart because she couldn’t get enough oxygen. She hit her head hard, needed ten stitches and got a concussion.

            • Dawn Schultz

That is what curbside pick up is for- or on-line shopping. I have a daughter that has underlying conditions so I have done this since this all started and it costs no extra.

        • marie

If they HAD to do it, it would be implemented in all stores immediately. They don’t have to do this. This has nothing to do with ADA. ADA issues refer to accessibility. For example, we’re visiting out of town next week and there’s only 1 hotel close. We’re fighting with the hotel because I can’t do stairs, they don’t have an elevator and can’t guarantee a ground floor. That, they HAVE to do because they are not allowing their hotel to be accessible to guests who can’t use stairs. Taking cold food to a car isn’t ADA

They don’t have to do anything, they’re a private business and can do as they please. That is their right. You as a customer can choose not to shop there if you don’t like their policies. That is your right.

      • ekthyer@yahoo.com

I’ve seen a lot of courts tell a lot of private businesses they don’t have the right to refuse people. And I’m sure there are people with disabilities, such as extremely compromised lungs, that can’t breathe with a mask on.

        • SuzyHomemakerGoneBad

All of the courts that I have seen have upheld the rights of private businesses to keep a mask wearing policy. And as someone with a very severe lung condition that has landed me in the hospital more times than I can count, I can tell you that I am perfectly fine wearing a mask. Is uncomfortable? Yes. But it’s perfectly safe. Not only that, but if I get COVID-19, it’s probably a death sentence for me, so I appreciate a mandatory mask policy.

        • ccmama

          Sources please.

          • Emily

I wasnt referring to masks i was referring to cake makers who preferred to not serve gay weddings and similar stories. Those private businesses were forced to serve people. I don’t want to discuss right or wrong on that, just to point out that private businesses CAN’T always do whatever they choose. And there are disabilities who can’t wear masks safely, such as the person mentioned with copd passing out.

            • ccmama

I wasn’t referring to you – when I asked for sources. It’s not that hard to follow along. Or is it?

              • Emily

I just assumed because your comment is listed as in response to me. I think that was fair for me to assume since that’s how you replied.

  5. Em C

WOOOOOOOOOHOOOOOOOOO! This is the best news I’ve heard in a very long time, thank you so much for posting!

    • Jennifer (Hip Sidekick)

      You are so welcome!

  6. Monique

    This is awesome!

  7. Stephanie

    Finally!!

  8. Girlwork

Oh how I Love Target ❤️❤️😁

  9. PrincessMom

I’m so glad! I really don’t like Walmart but I’ve had to do most of my grocery ordering from them. Hopefully I can get these items at my local target soon!

  10. Gramma C

I sure hope it’s our target at least one of them. also I can’t believe Costco can’t do something like this. If Sam’s club can manage it Costco should be able to.

    • Lora

Yes, I agree that Costco has been disappointing during this pandemic. I am getting most of my groceries from online Sam’s, curbside Walmart and my local Target just started offering grocery items for curbside pickup as well. I’m not sure that a Costco membership is worthwhile for my anymore.

    • Dawn

That is what curbside pick up is for- or on-line shopping. I have a daughter that has underlying conditions so I have done this since this all started and it costs no extra. Now we have Costco, Menards, Trader Joe’s and Starbucks that require masks- hope there are more to come! So many people dying. 😞

  11. Liz

Yes! Can’t wait! Hopefully they can do tp and bleach too.

  12. maria

Definitely appreciate this option and have used it several times over the past few months. It’s very hit and miss with what can be picked up vs. what is only available in store though. For example, 2% milk is available for pickup but whole milk is not, frozen carrots are available for pickup but fresh carrots are not. Hopefully this is a start and they will continue to expand what they offer!

    • dannettedelamatter

Agreed. Plus I’ve noticed that mainly name brands are available but not always the cheaper up&up brand. Still, so glad they’ve started offering some items!

  13. Mrswright

    Yey!!!!!

  14. Renee

    Hallelujah 🙌🏼💚

  15. Denise

    Awesome thank you

  16. Kaylee

    YAY!!! 🎉

  17. ccmama

Our Target started doing this last week. When you arrive to pick up your order, it may take longer for Them to come out to your car as they have to run the the freezer etc to get your food. So I’m sure items will be sold out from time to Rome and you are unable to receive your full order.

  18. Jaimee

This makes me soooo happy! This is one of the reasons I have not done a lot of Target pickup orders and opted for Walmart instead.

  19. Jenna

Do they keep cold items in their refrigerator u til you pickup?
