On the fence? Check out these rave reviews…

It is so awesome that Costco has these Birkenstock sandals! They are extremely comfortable and they are great because they let your feet/nails breathe. It’s an awesome gift for Mother’s Day, anniversary, birthday, etc. and especially for that price. As soon as my cousin told me today that they had them I ordered two pairs for me and my mother!

Super comfortable Birkenstocks “Birko-flor” Arizona style at a great price. Costco does not convert the European sizes appropriately however; I am a size 8 and bought what Costco labeled as a size 7; it’s a perfect fit.

I was shocked to see the exact same Birkenstock shoes as I had seen in other stores for half the price. Great quality, super comfortable… LOVE them!!!

      They’re not. I own these. And they’re 100% authentic.

      From that link–
“So-called gray markets, in which retailers sell authentic branded products without the consent of the brand, have long been a thorn in the side of popular brands”

Doesn’t say they’re fake, just not authorized to sell…

My daughter wants a pair in the lighter color but only black is showing in stock. Bummer! I thought I was going to be able to cross an item off the Christmas shopping list. I will have to keep looking. Thanks for the post!

    • Amber (Hip Sidekick)

You’re welcome! Hoping you can grab them soon!

Costco is a reputable company. There’s no way they sell counterfeit items. They stand behind their products. If you ever feel dissatisfied, just return it.

  3. Mama2Nine

Disagree! I bought some from Costco. They are 100% fake! They are stiff, hard and fit nothing like real birks.
My oldest daughter and I won’t wear them bc we had blisters from them.
    Junk.. save your money.

    • Katrina

They’re Birko-flor, which is different than the real leather Birks. Also part of the price difference. Hopefully you got your money back since you weren’t satisfied. But they’re definitely real Birks.

  4. Mama2Nine

And Costco won’t return these bc they are a third party item I was told.

    • mayd2bz

Totally unheard of. Yes, there are some exceptions, like electronics, major appliances, alcohol, tires, etc (you can check their return policy online). I saw them taking back empty food package, broken items, heck…even old died plant😁 Because it’s Costco, some people just take advantage of their generous return policy. And you can always talk to their supervisor if they refuse to take it.

  5. Lindsay

Bought the wrong size, returned in store with no issues. They are exactly the same as my non-Costco purchased Birks! Costco would not sell fake brands!

    • Amber (Hip Sidekick)

Thanks a bunch for sharing your experience, Lindsay! Good to know!

Costco often sells “gray market” goods — real, branded goods purchased from third parties (often overseas) because the manufacturer won’t sell to them directly. The manufacturers hate it but can’t really stop it, as they’ve already sold the goods overseas. This article describes how the manufactures sometimes send people into the Costco stores to buy up the merchandise to get it off the market and protect the authorized domestic retailers, who charge more.

I own these and they are 100% authentic. It does take about a week to break them in just like it does all birks with this type of footbed.

  8. Vicki

Thank you for posting these as I have always wanted a pair and what a great price!! Now I’m hoping they may run it again so I can get me daughter a pair since her size is sold out!

  9. sdsmom

I love Birks but have never owned the Birks-flor. Does it change the way they fit?

    • Kathy Stephenson

The footbed is exactly the same. The only difference is that the upper black thong is not leather. I own 2 Birko-Flor like these. One I purchased at a Birkenstock retailer and the other at Costco. They are the same.

H2S, any idea if these normally restock?

    • Jennifer (Hip Sidekick)

In the past, they just come around a few times a year. If they sell out now, they probably will be back around October if they are the same this year.

      • Justlucky18

        Thank you!
I’ll have to keep an eye out for your posts. Hopefully I’ll have better luck next time 🤞🏼

If you don’t want to spend the money, Sam’s club is selling similar sandals, real leather. They are marked down to $9.81, brand Mountain Sole, they have them in brown and black.
Picked up a pair today, they are comfortable. Online they are sold out.

    • A. Reno

I have both the mountain sole and a pair of birks and much prefer the mountain soles. Everyone keeps telling me its because my birks aren’t worn in yet but it has been months. Mountain soles came comfortable and no blisters, and if they wear out quicker than the birks that is ok because I can buy 5 pairs for the same price as birkenstock. I dont hate the birkenstocks; I’m not going to give up on them yet but I just love the mountain soles. Crossing my fingers I can find them for the same price as this reader!!!

You may want to check Proozy.com. They often have Birkenstock sandals on sale.

  13. Erin mi

The links are showing “Product not found” for me.

  14. Bee Magi

I almost only wear birkenstocks. I have at least a dozen pair. The ones I got at costco a couple years ago feel and fit completely different, I cannot wear them they hurt my feet and did not break in. They are narrower even though they have an open sole on the footbed that means they are not the narrow size. If they are real they are some cheap line that is nothing like my others.
