FREE Samples are Returning to Costco
Dear Costco, thank you for the samples!
Costco is bringing back their legendary samples! If you’re like any other Costco Member, it’s been months since you’ve seen samples offered in stores. One of the greatest perks of shopping Costco was temporarily stopped at the onset of the Coronavirus, but guess what… they’re back!
Look for samples in your local Costco club offered in a whole new way. For the well being of customers and as an effort to stay compliant with safety protocols, only dry pre-packaged samples will be served.
It’s a little different than we’re used to, but we’ll take it! The samples we found at our club were pre-packaged in take-home bags with only one bag on the sample tray at a time. Customers were encouraged to try their free samples at home, not in-club.
Will Costco eventually return to the old ways? We hope! However, for now this is their plan, and we love this small step toward normalcy!
When I was there today there were only like jars of marinara and when I asked about it they said they were only able to tell you about the product.
My store too! I went yesterday and was super excited to see the samples were back. They were only for display though. 🤷♀️
Ditto! They had cooked food on display behind a plexi glass wall. I was so excited and then not, lol.
I was there yesterday and excited to see the sample booths back, but they varied in what they offered. Some could only tell you about the product, while others gave away full-size samples – I got a full-sized bottle of BAI coconut water and an individual snack size bag of the Skinny Pop popcorn. They were probably 5 to 6 other booths that were only displaying their products.
What a smart compromise. No taking off masks or touching food. Take a free sample home.
I’m all for it, but it’s that counter productive when wearing a mask?? The whole purpose of mask wearing is to keep your hands away from your face! 🤦♀️ You shouldn’t be touching your mask, taking it off, then putting it back on. That is probably the best way to spread germs.
They kindly request you enjoy your sample when you get home 😉
When I went they were just able to tell you about the product.
I might be the lone wolf here, but I hate the samples!! Too many people there just to eat a cheap lunch and so many cart traffic jams around the sample tables 😂 Ive loved how fast I can get in and out of Costco the last few months!
I feel the same! So many inconsiderate people that just block the whole aisle. I’m enjoying not having the samples at Costco!

On LI Friday they were giving out full sealed cups of Chobani and new Gogo squeeze packets.
Don’t agree….that is my job, maybe you should get a membership some where else…oh that is right ..they all do samples.!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Kathy, many of us realize you need your job and sympathize.
Anything that causes people to gather tightly together is a bad idea. People mob sample stations. I question Costco’s decision making process.
As much as i loves the samples, people are right. It will make it hard to enforce mask rules and certainly being people closer than 6 feet. I also don’t see the purpose of a certain company offering them either, as the whole point behind it was someone to try it in store and buy it on the spot. Maybe a sample box sent to all members monthly would be easier and then people will know before they go to the store.
People block the aisles no matter what. I loved stopping in a Sam’s Club for free lunch, but they closed.
Nothing saves money like free!
Maybe companies can give all employees free Costco memberships. Instead of just the richer employees who make more money than the poorer ones.
Complaining about lines for samples, trivial. Complaining about idiots looking/strolling on their cellphones through the aisles, that is really disruptive.

Yesterday my Costco was giving out Kirkland “Gatorade”, Fruit by the Foot, Liquid IV Energy, and Paleo Bars. All full size! They were just asking not to open them in the store.
No samples yet at my Costco in Pennsylvania.
Anyone know if there’s a way to get samples of Kirkland diapers? Id love to buy them, they’re a great price, but I’d want to try them first.
You can return them if you don’t like them 🤷🏼♀️ Or of course with the internet you can get tons of reviews and make a decision
Thanks! You just never know what kind of reaction your babies will have. I was so excited to try luvs and then my baby had a reaction. 😖 They would take back an open box? I’d feel bad taking back something is opened.
