Family Dollar Recalling Dog Food Due to Potential Toxin Concerns
Check your pet food if you shop at Family Dollar!
If you purchased dog food at Family Dollar recently, you’ll want to check your food for recalled items. During routine testing, Aflatoxin, a mycotoxin that can cause toxicity or death, was found in samples of grain found in the food.
The affected brands are Family Pet Meaty Cuts Beef Chicken & Cheese Flavors Premium Dog Food, Heartland Farms Grilled Favorites Beef Chicken & Cheese Flavor, and Paws Happy Life Butcher’s Choice Dog Food. These were manufactured by Sunshine Mill, Inc. Paws Happy Life and distributed with lot codes from April 2020.
Consumers who have purchased the above products are encouraged to throw them out or return them to the place of purchase for a full refund.
For details on the specific products lot numbers being recalled, go to the American Veterinary Medical Association website.
I would not buy pet food at the “dollar stores”!
if you read the ingredients on this dog food it is just awful. You do not want to ever feed this stuff to your dog.
