Visit Macy’s Santaland from Home this Year | Meet Santa, Snap a Selfie & More!
Macy’s is moving a cherished Christmas tradition online this year.
For over 150 years, generations of children have enjoyed visiting with Santa at Macy’s. This Christmas tradition will look a lot different in the age of COVID-19, but the department store has announced that it’s determined to deliver the magic of its Santaland experience to kids wherever they are this year.
“To replicate the magical experience of visiting Macy’s Santaland for children and their families, we will shift to a virtual engagement this year. Macy’s is delighted to have found a way to ensure even more families can enjoy this treasured experience safely during this festive time of the year.” – Susan Tercero, Macy’s Vice President of Branded Entertainment
Beginning Friday, November 27th through Thursday, December 24th, Macy’s Santaland at Home will be available online. Reservations are not needed to participate in this interactive, virtual experience. It will be available on-demand and FREE for anyone wishing to take a digital trip through Santaland!
Up to three children at one time can take part in the Santaland experience (after an adult provides the necessary permissions to activate the program). Adults can also customize their family’s Santaland experience from the diverse options available.
The Macy’s Santaland at Home experience includes a special greeting from Santa’s elves, an elf-guided tour of Santa’s Village and Workshop, and games to play along the way. At the end of the journey, kids will meet Santa through an interactive video where they can share their holiday wish list and snap a selfie with St. Nick. Families can download their Santa selfie immediately following the photo op.
Santa will also be taking over Macy’s Facebook, Instagram, and Twitter with special Christmas content, including live storytime. For a listing of Santa’s online social engagements, his calendar will be posted soon on macys.com/Santaland.

I live in NYC and have been to Santa land with my kids many times. It is really magical (especially when the lines aren’t long😉) This is so great that those without access to Macy’s will be able to experience it as well.
