How does the new Walgreens cash work? Is it printed like the old RRs? Or is it all digital? Thanks!!!

Pretty much the way the old system did except the Walgreens rewards are framed in dollars and cents instead of points. Register rewards are still available. Check the digital ad to see which deals earn MyWalgreens cash and which ones earn register rewards. I can’t speak for every store but mine takes the digital coupons, newspaper coupons and printed legitimate coupons. Read up on the Walgreens website for other changes.

I added everything to my cart and it says Quick20 doesn’t work. Maybe because I’m on my phone?

    • Denroj

Try in chrome browser, i had same issue and did it through phone chrome browser.

    • Stacy F (Hip2Save Sidekick)

Hey there! I was having an issue too. Here are a couple things that might help. Make sure you are logged in. Make sure that you get rid of any codes that are still in your account. I clicked on “Not Applied” and still had the code NEW10 saved to my account along with QUICK20. Both were not applying so I deleted the NEW10 and the QUICK20 code applied right away. Lastly, if you picked other items than what we have listed above, make sure your subtotal after manufacturer coupons is above $25 or it will not work. Hope this helps!

      • Christina

How do you delete??? I am trying to and can’t figure it out.

        • Amber (Hip Sidekick)

You have the option to remove codes just below the promo code box when in your cart. If using a mobile device, you may need to switch to desktop view. Hoping that helps!

    • Tilly

I had the same thing. I had a higher value coupon for the razors ($10 instead of $6) and had to add a little over $2 to get the 20% off. So grateful for this deal!!

  3. Bette Morse

How do you get 20 in Walgreens cash? I understand the 10 for buying Gillette products but where does the other 10 come from?

Manufacturers coupons (not Walgreens) do count towards the spend total since Walgreens is reimbursed by the manufacturer on the customers behalf. Where I have my doubts is using the QUICK20 code since that 20% is a discount and not actual dollars spent. But there is a new system and could be perfectly fine now. I would be very interested if anyone would post after they go to the store and pickup how it went as far as earning Walgreens cash.

    • Stacy F (Hip2Save Sidekick)

You get $10 Rewards for every $20 you spend. Since you are purchasing $42.96 of Gillette products, you’ll earn the reward twice.

      • Nancy

So the 20% off $25 did not apply to the total $42.96 (minus manufacturing coupons) to make it less than $40?

  4. carrollwoodmom

Thank you for posting this. I was able to get all items with coupons, scheduled for pickup and the walgreens cash, what a great deal.

  5. Naayomee

    QUICK20 isn’t working for me. :/

I had a similar problem due to some local pricing differences. Here is what I did: Gillette skin guard razor – $9.99 (reg 13.29) Gillette skin guard refill (4 pk) – $14.99 (reg 19.99) Gillette Venus comfort glide white tea razor – $9.99 (reg 11.79) Gillette Venus white tea refills (4 ok) $14.99 (reg $19.99) 2 Blistex (filler item) – $3 – $5 Gillette razor coupon – $6 Gillette refill coupon – $5 Venus Razor coupon – $6 Venus refill coupon – $10 off $30 store pickup coupon (could have used the 25% coupon code here, but it wouldn’t let me do both and $10 coupon was greater) Total price before tax: $21.26 -$20.53 rewards ($20 for Gillette and 0.53 for regular purchase rewards I think) Total – 91 cents for $68.06 in products!!

  7. ranjit

If I apply $20 worth of Cash Rewards then do I still earn $20 cash rewards ? In the bottom it says ( Estimated rewards earned on this order: $20.42 ) but not sure why it says estimated

No you will not get it if you use the cash rewards. On the first screen there is a disclaimer because those are calculated using the absolute maximum you could earn not what you will earn and because you haven’t paid yet and paying with cash rewards lowers what you will earn. On a dollar threshold deal that you have to spend xdollars think— does Walgreens wind up with that xdollars in their pocket? With dollars actually spent out of your pocket plus manufacturers coupons they do. Reward cash, Walgreens coupons, discount codes they do not—Walgreens considers that cash they have already given you once and won’t let you earn more dollars the second time. That first screen where they give estimated points really upsets people until they understand how it works. I hope that was helpful.

  8. Mom23

If I use my $2 in rewards to pay for this order, will I still qualify for the $20 in rewards?

  9. Edy

Not if you use rewards or points that’s what it was before since it says spend – spend you can use manufacture coupons Walgreens coupons digitals u can use register rewards used like a Catalina rr from buying crest but not points / I did last week some blades Venus I had a $10 in Walgreens app 17.99 and Gillette blades 17.99 using a $10 from app and a Venus razor or mans Gillette using the $7 on app pay cash and got 20 in rewards or points

  10. Edy

Some lol toys are 50% in store check your stores have some one scan items to see prices

  11. Vanessa

Has anyone picked up their order and received the $20 reward?

  12. Michelle

Not sure if the QUICK20 is limited to one order. I had already placed an order earlier tonight and went to order some Gillette/Venus after seeing this but that coupon will not work (even if i add numerous other items well over the $25 required)

    • Michelle

After looking on their site under promo terms there are multiple other coupons to try if QUICK20 isn’t working…
      SAFE20 – 20% off $20
      TRY5 – $5 off $25
      PICKUP15 – $15% off $40
      PICKUP10 -10% off 25

I was able to get SAFE20 to work

      • Nicole

        Thank you!

      • Amber (Hip Sidekick)

        Thanks for the helpful list!

  13. Beth

What do people do with earned points since you can’t use them on purchases where you are earning points. I feel like on most things they are really overpriced and I just don’t know what to spend points on.

    • Michelle

I just made a purchase the other day using $10 points/Walgreens Cash and still earned $25 walgreens cash that i was expecting on my purchase. I’m giving it a try on this one as well, fingers crossed.

      • Michelle

I paid with $10 rewards and picked up my order tonight and did only receive $20.50 rather than the $30.60 as estimated in the order.

There are many deals where you can both earn and spend. Look for deals that require “buy 2 widgets get x rewards”. On those you can use whatever type of coupons you want and any amount of cash rewards you want because the only requirements are to buy x number of the right type of item. I use my points to reduce the costs of expensive items that never go on sale such as one vitamin brand I need. When the squishmallows went on sale for $10 I used my points to get a free one for my granddaughters Christmas. Check Walgreens site for clearance items that match the digital coupons and pay with reward points for items that are pretty much free. There are lots of things that work out well. I frequently use my rewards to get free Diet Coke.

When it says spend $20 we can’t use Walgreens rewards to pay only manufacture coupons and register rewards earned from items that gives us register rewards like Catalinas yes we can use to pay less cash and we earn Walgreens cash rewards – then we can use Walgreens cash for items that give us register rewards or we can use them to pay items that we need and don’t have coupons – I have 300 in Walgreens cash rewards which is like points – so, I can go buy items that give register rewards or cash rewards or anything that I may need and since I have that much I can spend $50 at once – 2 weeks ago I bought 16 toys buy 2 get 2 free at $6.99 each and paid using $50 in Walgreens cash and only paid taxes -when you get a perk coupon that says spend $30 get 7 in points then we can use manufacture coupons to lower the amount pay cash we must then we earn 7 in Walgreens cash rewards

  15. Michelle

I highly recommend you also go directly to the digital coupons and look through your “just for you” i had several higher value Gillette and Venus coupons (I had $10 off Gillette 4 ct razor refills, $10 off Venus 4 ct razor refills, and $7 off razor). I was able to get 2 razors and 2 4 ct razor refills for $23.17 before taxes and estimated rewards are $30.60.

    • Michelle

Gosh sorry for so many comments… I meant to reiterate going directly to digital coupons because these “just for you” coupons did not show up on the item pages for me like most do.

    • Nicole

Thank you. I saw your comment after I did the deal…so I did it a second time! Now I am all set with razors. Thank you so much for the tip!

  16. CA

Is QUICK20 a one time use? It is saying that my cart is not eligible.

    • Michelle

Try SAFE20 instead. That is also 20% off $20 purchase.

      • Amber (Hip Sidekick)

        Thanks, Michelle! Good to know!

  17. Ana

Thank you! I changed the deal a bit & bought 3 razors & 2 refills. Paid $26.08 and will receive $30.68 in rewards! 🙂

    • Amber (Hip Sidekick)

Nice score, Ana! You’re very welcome!

  18. Tilly

My order was cancelled. It said o cancelled it but I didn’t. Has anyone else seen this before ?

    • Tilly

I tried calling in. After 15 minutes I was told that I was routed to photo and they would send me to another department (no word in edgewise wise). I was sent to the end of the queue and after 33 minutes told THE EXACT THING AGAIN. Three minutes later my call was entirely disconnected. I can’t reorder because some of the coupons are gone. 😡

That’s a bummer. Call 1-800-WALGREENS and see if they can restore the coupon, replicate the deal by shipping to your home with the same discounts, or just give you enough Walgreens cash to compensate. What happened was that the store did not actually have the inventory that it was showing online. Or the system has been known to arbitrarily cancel orders. Could be either thing. Choose the store that has the largest inventory. You can indicate that you will take a substitute and the price will be no higher but it won’t guarantee that you get the same rewards. Unfortunately if the system glitches it’s a call to 1-800-Walgreens I’m so sorry.

        • Tilly

          Thank you!

I have a 15 off Gillette refills and I can’t get it to attach to any products. Would there be any reason why?

What a GREAT DEAL!!!! Just snagged this! Completed my stocking stuffers!!

Does the new Rewards program keep track of your purchases, like how CVS does. You have to spend so much, but you don’t have to do it all in one transaction.

Not exactly as far as I can tell. You earn 1% of name brand purchases and 5% of Walgreens brand purchases There are no separate beauty rewards.

  22. sturgissaver

When I click the link for the $10 in Cash rewards when you buy $20 in Gillette razors and cartridges, It doesn’t look like the shaving cream is eligible for that promotion???

    • Stacy F (Hip2Save Sidekick)

Hey, sturgissaver! The shaving cream is actually more of a filler item in order to use the QUICK20 coupon. You’ll hit $40.97 on included Gillette items, but with the $16 in coupons, it drops to under $25 total so you need a small item to get up to $25 again to use the QUICK20. You can totally put anything over 3¢ in there and do the same deal; with this scenario, the shaving cream just made the most sense.

  23. RabbidBunny14

I’m not seeing the $6 or the $5 Venus coupon. I get to the checkout page and it says coupons available but when I click it says “Coupons are currently unavailable please try again later.” It always says this. What am I doing wrong?

    • Amber (Hip Sidekick)

Hmm, It looks like there may be a glitch on the site that their coupons are not working at the moment. I still find them available and to be valid, but I do get the same message at checkout. Be sure to check back again in bit!

It’s a glitch. When you get to the final checkout screen it will usually let you add them then.

Did anyone get the $10/ $30 digital coupon to work? Is it before or after coupons?
