Be sure to bring your quarter to ALDI!

Have you ever started to walk into ALDI and think “Darn! I forgot a quarter” while digging through your purse – only to find out you don’t have one? You then have to decide if your arms can carry all your groceries or come back to make another trip.

To help you remember your quarter, head to your local ADLI where you can snag one of these cute Keychain Coin holders for only $1.19! Use it to securely stash your quarter until you’re ready to use it.

We found Christmas themed coin holders as well as llamas, flamingos and more. Don’t wait too long as when these are gone they are gone!

For those of you who don’t shop at ALDI, the reason you need a quarter is to use a grocery cart. Don’t worry, you do get it back! ALDI has this system in place to keep all the carts together and out of the parking lot.

You must use a insert a quarter into a lock releasing the cart from the corral to use in store. After you are done shopping, you take the cart back to the corral and you’ll get your quarter back when use the key in the corral to release it again. This keeps carts out of the parking lot so they can keep costs down. If you don’t feel like taking your cart back for your quarter, someone usually grabs it pretty quick to keep your quarter.

I had one of these a couple years ago, different style, and could never get my quarter out!!

Same! I’m hoping these are a different style.

      Same for me too šŸ¤£

Just FYI, Iā€™ve unfortunately forgotten my quarter a couple of times and they just gave me a cart when I asked šŸ˜‰

I donā€™t have an Aldi nearby so Iā€™m glad you explained the quarter issue! I hope to visit a store soon. Any must buys??

Personally, I am not a fan. I would not go crazy, buy a few things from each category and try for yourself. I have not had good luck there.

Katie, our Aldi’s is great. They restock on Wednesdays (find out when your store restocks for best product selection). We have gotten into their brioche breads for our burger buns, their apple strudel bread, pumpkin seeded (and unseeded) breads are absolutely amazing. Check out their wines (if you have wine at your store). We buy all of our dairy (milk, yogurt, cream cheese, egg nog, cottage cheese, etc) products there (eggs are .48 cents a dozen where we are). We don’t do all our shopping there, but have our favorites… you just need to find out yours. Their wines are amazing too. Aldi’s has a great policy too that if you don’t like something return it and they will give you your money back. I only had an issue with a gallon of milk I bought that had gone bad before the expiration date. I didn’t even have it with me but was talking to the cashier about it and that I was surprised it had gone bad because I had never had an issue with their milk before. She promptly didn’t charge me for the one I was buying that day. Again, we love our Aldi’s, but I will admit all Aldi’s are not equal! Went into an Aldi’s at a Neighboring town and just didn’t feel the same. Hope you find yours.

Katie, I second all the fabulous tips. Shopping at Aldi cut our food budget by 60%! Cheeses -especially the holiday ones- are the cheapest there. Several years ago, a friend said an Aldi wouldnā€™t survive my area because there were too many ā€œfood snobsā€. Well, she was sorta wrong, ours is always packed but you do have to retrain your brain to look at the item, not look for brand packaging. In nearly 10 yrs of shopping there, Iā€™ve only returned 2 items for their double back guarantee. One simply because I didnā€™t like the taste (pumpkin cream cheese). To us, these items look ā€œgenericā€ but they arenā€™t. Their chips are great. Need to bake? Cheapest place to get flour and sugar.

Itā€™s best to shop on Wed when the sale starts. Especially with home goods, when they are gone, they are gone. Often very helpful items at crazy low prices! I once got large boxes of screws for my parents redoing their deck -$4.99. Cost at Home Depot? Nearly $30! Always check the home goods aisle.

Aldi’s is the place for healthy foods at cheaper prices. They consistently have some sale on fresh produce and/or meats. The eggs are cheapest price around, in our area it’s .55 for a dozen! While they don’t always carry the brands you’re familiar with, it’s fun to try new items in there. Without them, I really couldn’t afford to do keto!

Aldi is the best!! Fresh, fresh, fresh produce and meat at great prices. Great prices on cheese and nuts and everything else too. We stopped shopping everywhere else because we save soooo much there! Awesome frozen food section too. Trader Joeā€™s and Aldi are owned by the same company. I have found baskets, candles that are dupes for Anthropologie and so many other things for the home including the gorgeous perennials in the front landscaping of my home. Great seasonal selection. Itā€™s become so popular in my town that if thereā€™s an ad with something I like I have to hurry and get there before they are gone. If you see something you like donā€™t hesitate because it will be gone next time! Cannot beat their prices or their double guarantee! Returns are replaced AND you get your money back!

I bought these for adult stocking stuffers last year. I keep mine on my keyring but itā€™s very hard to get out.

Love my Narwhal! Bought the cupcake for my niece and a hard seltzer one for my boozy friend:)

I have a plastic disc that works in the german stores in my wallet but it doesn’t fit the carts here stateside. Wish I had one of those discs for their carts. I only shop Aldi in my travels because it is a 5 hour round trip to Aldi here in Arkansas. Wish they would have one in the capital city. LOL I shop there when I go to OK, LA, IA, MO, and other places through out the year but my brothers don’t ever get to go along so once a year during Christmas we make the 5 hour drive to Aldi to get Christmas food. Sadly our local store doesn’t carry alcohol. Praying that Trader Joes has my german Christmas wine. Won’t be Christmas without it.

I bought the Vista Bay one for myself and love it! I did find it hard to get the quarter out but I have found that if I only put it in on one side and don’t put the other side over the quarter it comes out a little better. And yes, I agree with all the Aldi shoppers! It’s the best! šŸ™ŒšŸ»

I don’t like to touch the quarter after it slides out, slider groove is probably gross.
Don’t see how it is cleaned or at all.
