I bought this for the kid inside of me, to play with my grandchildren. I am very impressed with the changes. I remember as a child with the original spirograph the pins wouldn’t stay in place causing much frustration because I couldn’t get a design to be complete without the wheels skipping. My second complaint was when I ran out of ink, I could not find a pen on the market that would fit in the holes so I had to push really hard on the pen to get it to contact with the paper.
With this spirograph it comes with the putty which does help keep it in place, you can still use push pins if you want it extra secure along with some cardboard. And I purchased some ink joy gel pens which work great so I will never have to worry about running out of ink, and I now have a wider variety of colors to choose from. I know my grandkids and I will have many hours of fun. It’s a great investment.
