So is it true that this goes live at midnight??? I just wanna know so I can prepare cause I missed the last one

    • Amber (Hip Sidekick)

Hi Natasha! Some readers last week did find that they could register at Midnight. Hoping you can sign up!

      • sue B

Yes it opens at midnight and it sold out when i was up at 5 am so apparently you need to do this right at midnight ??!!??

        • CJ

That seems silly to do it at midnight. I saw that last night but knew I couldn’t stay up for it. It was gone at 5:30 am. I guess they’re trying to avoid the major crashing last week had when registering. I did get in last week (pick up tonight) but I won’t be getting any others if they make it midnight sign up.

        • Amber (Hip Sidekick)

Hi there! I was able to register for mine this morning at 7am EST. Registration may fill up faster at some locations. Hope this helps!

  2. kaylatrumble

It doesn’t give you anything to register for….

    • Amber (Hip Sidekick)

Be sure to check back again tomorrow, April 8th!

  3. acarol

Managed to get registered at my local one last week. So excited!

    • Amber (Hip Sidekick)

      Yay! Glad to hear that!

  4. Kim

Really disappointed my store is not participating. Not a single person there had any idea about what was going on. Had to chat with customer service to find out they aren’t participating.

    • Amber (Hip Sidekick)

Bummer! Sorry to hear they are not participating. Do you by chance have another nearby location you would be able to register at?

  5. Linda Davis

do you get a confirmation email or text?

    • acarol

      I did.

    • Amber (Hip Sidekick)

Hi Linda! I did get a confirmation email. I had to look for it in my promotions folder.

      • Angela

How long did it take for you to get the email?? I registered last week and never got an email. I was able to register for next weeks at midnight last night and haven’t received any email for that either.

        • Amber (Hip Sidekick)

I did get my email within a few minutes of registration.

        • v

Mine was in my Junk email last week.

  6. MaaMaaBear

I registered, but was wondering what time can you pick up the kits tomorrow?

    • acarol

I got a confirmation email saying pick up was 5-7pm at mine.

      • MaaMaaBear

        Great! Thanks!!

    • Alamode

My confirmation email states 5-7pm and that there will be a curbside pickup line to enter as we remain in our vehicles.

  7. KCha

Hoping I can score one this week- I was unable to get through while it was open last Thursday. I’ll try at midnight. Thanks for the reminder!

    • Amber (Hip Sidekick)

      You’re so welcome!

  8. johnson16

Man it says wow-already sold out

    • Jean

Sign in to your Lowes account. Mine said the same until I signed in. See if that helps.

  9. laura

Wondering if they let you get someone’s who doesn’t end up showing up?

  10. Alamode

I was just able to register for the pinata! Thanks, H2S!

    • Amber (Hip Sidekick)

      Woohoo! You’re welcome!

  11. Mommy2Bear

Already sold out but hey I at least was able to register for next Thursday’s.

    • Alamode

HI, Mommy2Bear. The registrations open the week before the pickup date. So, next week we all stay up until midnight to register for 04/22’s tree giveaway. On 04/22, we stay up to register for 04/29’s Butterfly quest kit. I believe the registrations are only open for 24hrs for each event and close if your location has reached the maximum capacity (This happens fast!). If you are on time (like right now for 04/15’s piñata!) but your local store states, “Wow – already sold out!,” you can try changing your local store (in the upper left hand corner on homepage or under the SpringFest banner on the Events page) to see if another location has an opening.

      • Alamode

***Sorry, I should have typed “On 04/21, we stay up…” You must register on Thursday for next Thursday’s event. Stay up late on Wednesdays and register asap.

  12. bubela101

    Registered for the Pinata

  13. Nicole

THANK YOU!! I was able to register without any crashes this time!

    • Amber (Hip Sidekick)

SO glad to hear that, Nicole! You’re welcome!

  14. Renada

Registration opens 12 am eastern time each Thursday. I’m in the central zone so was able to register @ 11 pm Wednesday. Hope this helps more people get a kit from their preferred location. Good luck!

    • Alamode

Awesome, Renada! This is awesome & helpful news for everyone! Thank you & Congrats!!

    • Joni

People sitting up until midnight for their time zone isn’t going to allow more people to sign up, all it’s going to accomplish is more people trying to sign up at midnight. And sitting up to 11pm isn’t a stretch for most people. Have fun next week at 11pm! I’ll be one of many that will be signing up! I’ve told my local group about it.

  15. Dipthi

    Registration done👍🏼 thanks h2s😊

    • Amber (Hip Sidekick)

      You bet!

  16. Mimi1121

1am on 4/8 and sold out at my store. We’re not a big city, how many are they given? Oh well, dogs needed to go potty anyways….

    • Amber (Hip Sidekick)

DARN! Do you have another nearby location? Hoping that might be helpful!

  17. Diane

This is an awful promo, you cannot even get in after midnight, don’t waste your time

    • irene

They must have been giving away 5 kits… gone in a flash!

  18. Leslie_30

All registeted for my piñata kit!

    • Amber (Hip Sidekick)

      Woohoo!

  19. Emily

A lot of my area stores are full but I found an opening at one. I thought they were all full and then I realized I was looking at last weeks and not scrolling down enough!

  20. rusheajj5

Can someone else pick up with my registration?

    • rusheajj5

I mean for me with my registration .

    • Allison

My husband was able to pick up mine!

  21. Basel

    Just registered with eased.

  22. Susan

I just registered with no problems:)

  23. Ashley

  25. Carolyn

    • Collin (Mrs. Hip)

      You’re welcome, Carolyn!

  26. Ladybugs

It did go live at midnight. I registered then as I thought by morning it would be closed

  27. Barbie

I was able to register for the pinata at 8:00 am!

  28. MisstionVista

I’ve tried 6 different stores and they all say SOLD OUT. I wonder if the system has crashed again.

    • Jervine87

They might just be sold out. I checked this morning at 1am and got it but at 6am they had sold out. It’s just a quick process.

    • Amber (Hip Sidekick)

DARN! It seems locations may vary as to how quickly they sell out. Hoping you might be able to score the next offer!

  29. Christine

I live in the middle of nowhere and my store was “sold out” at 12:01. Was able to get one a few towns over though.

  30. Yvonne

Registration for the Garden Pinata Kit (with pickup today, April 8th) was still open for me at 9:00 Pacific!

  31. Yvonne

**Pickup NEXT week, I mean. 😀

  32. Amy Drake

I was just able to register for the next week pick up event just now at 1:00 PM EST… don’t give up

  33. MaaMaaBear

Just picked up the Miracle-Gro kit from last weeks registration and was a little disappointed to see there was no fresh plant with it! Definitely still happy, but wondering if anyone got a plant??

    • Callie

Oh… that’s too bad. I just posted to see what the giveaway was. Was it in the bucket as pictured?

    • Jessica

I picked up today’s garden to go kit and recieved:
      Basil plant**
      plastic bucket
      pair of gardening gloves
bag of miracle grow potting soil
      Tomato seeds

**I was given a choice of basil, zucchini, tomato, cucumber, bell pepper and maybe one other. Basil was the only herb offered to me, which is what I wanted. I was very impressed with everything!

      • Jennifer (Hip Sidekick)

        Nice! Thanks for sharing, Jessica!

    • Beverly

Picked mine up as well a bit ago and no plant and no seeds

    • Jean

I received a small tomato plant.

  34. Callie

Did anyone pick up their goodies today? This would have been the people who registered last week who are getting their prize today. Just curious what it was and how the process was. 🙂

    • Seana

I picked mine up. Super easy, you could drive up or walk up. Nice kit. A big 5 gallon bucket with a bag of miracle grow potting soil in it and a small box of the miracle grow feed. They gave you a couple packs of seeds and a small plant (options were tomato, dill or parsley). I was impressed.

      • Alamode

Oooh…You received seeds and a plant? Lucky you!

My store was so organized with the drive-thru pickup, but it was very busy as it was also the garden center pick-up line and they have their Spring Sale going on (lotsa mulch). They were very efficient, but I was dismayed to see my 5g Lowes bucket did not have the plant inside. I called the store and no one knew anything and there was hardly any Bonnie plants available. 🙁 The poor employee they sent out to handle a very irate freebie recipient had “just come back from 2weeks vacation” (Possible COVID?) and wasn’t even supposed to work today. I felt so bad for her.

Fortunately, I had a screenshot of what was supposed to be in the bucket: a Bonnie Foodie Fresh Plant, 8-quart Miracle-Gro Potting Mix, 8-oz Miracle-Gro All Purpose Water Soluble Plant Food, gloves, and exclusive recipes from professional cook and food stylist Amanda Frederickson. The poor employee just wanted people to leave happy. 🙁 It’s going to be a rough Spring Sale week there.

        • Alamode

To clarify, I was not the irate freebie recipient. It was another guest. Right after I got back to my vehicle, the poor employee was back out with yet another posturing, verbal recipient. 🙁

The gardening gloves are very decent! A thick nylon with nitrile coating and a velcro wrist closure. I believe them to be the employee’s gloves as they have the LOWE’S name on the closure.

The recipe cards were from Amanda Frederickson for: Spring Time Flatbread, Strawberry Salsa, and Spicy Strawberry Mocktail.

  35. bubela101

Very impressed with this offer. My bucket contained gloves, potting soil, plant food and my choice of veggie plant. I took broccolini and hope it grows in hot Arizona. Did not get recipe cards or seeds but still very happy with this offer. Thanks Hip2Save

    • Jennifer (Hip Sidekick)

You are welcome! Thanks for letting us know what they gave you!

  36. Susan

I was happy with what I got (I did get a plant but wasn’t able to choose what kind, got bell pepper but am happy with that). I also got tomato seeds and one recipe card- I would of liked all the recipe cards because the one I got is for the mocktail and I probably won’t use it. The flatbread sounds better:) My Lowes was not ready. There were no signs of where to go and we had to end up parking and going inside and we still had to wait (and it was after 5:15). We ended up getting everything from the return desk and they were just getting started putting everything together. They did have a list of names and checked it before passing out the buckets. I was able to register for next week this morning so hopefully they will be more organized. Good luck everyone. And remember to try to be patient since we are getting stuff for free:)

  37. Mom2boys

Very impressed as well! I got the bucket with a cover, potting soil, gloves, miracle grow, recipes, and a strawberry plant!! So exciting and much better than I had expected!

  38. Christy M.

I think this is such a great thing that Lowe’s is doing. I rushed over to pick up my grow kit as O had a meeting beforehand. I was given the bucket, but no plant or seeds. I don’t know if the associates realized they were supposed to be handing out plants or not. Either way I am very pleased because I can always use potting soil and plant food. I am a gardener, teaching my kids to grow things as well. I have plenty of seeds already. I did want to point out that I live in a small town and my Lowe’s had more kits than people picking them up. I was not able to sign up for next week, but I will go there close to 7pm to see if they are giving out the leftovers. The associates were literally flagging people down this evening trying to give them away.

    • Jennifer (Hip Sidekick)

Awww! How sweet that you are able to do this and teach your kiddos! Thanks for telling us about your experience!

  39. Joy

I was able to register last week and picked up my kit today, very easy and smooth process. However, I did not register in time for next week’s piñata. I was happy to get the kit this week though. I got a nice multi colored basil plant, Lowe’s bucket and lid, miracle grow potting soil, plant food, and gloves with Lowe’s name on them (super high quality!) and 3 recipe cards. I was so impressed! I’ll try again next week but I was happy just to get this kit!

  40. Gigi

Got the free plant it is a Jalapeno plant. Bucket with gloves and plant food. Plant soil. Was able to register for next weeks Pinata plant. Thx Hip2save

    • Collin (Mrs. Hip)

      Awesome! You’re so welcome, Gigi!

  41. barbie

Pick up for the garden bucket was super smooth at my store. They had cones set up to mark the pull in line. I was second car in line at 5 pm and out by 5:04 pm. I received the lidded bucket with gloves, plant food, garden gloves and recipe cards plus a green bell pepper plant and 3 packs of seeds (tomato, zinnia, nasturtium). Very satisfied with this freebie. Was able to register for the garden pinata without issue at 8:00 am.

    • Amber (Hip Sidekick)

That’s awesome to hear, Barbie! My store wasn’t quite as prepared. It sure was a great freebie to score!

  42. Lacey

I received the bucket, gloves with the recipe cards, potting mix, plant food and a butternut squash plant.
