I like the instant digital readings. I like my meat rarer than my wife does. Anyway, I have been notorious for undercooking her steaks for years. With this thermometer, I’ve been able to get both steaks to the desired temperatures.
I’ve tried different types of quick-read cooking thermometers and this seems the most convenient. It’s a switchblade style where you pull out the probe and the thermometer turns on. I totally agree, this thing rocks, it turns on/off automatically when you move the probe to the closed position. also since the probe collapses into the unit it doesn’t get stuck in the drawer and break like 2 others of mine that met their demise that way….its fast and terrific! getting a second one for my son’s apartment.
