This new product might change the way you feel about fanny packs!

The Ampere Side Pocket Wireless is one of the products that’s creating quite a buzz at CES 2020 in Las Vegas this week. It’s the world’s first “smart” fanny pack with the ability to wirelessly charge your devices.

This bag and its integrated wireless power bank come fully loaded with over 30 convenient features that let you stay powered up totally hands-free while on the go!

The Side Pocket Wireless features a built-in wireless charging component from Ampere called the Full Circle. Just drop your device in the dedicated phone pocket and it will charge! The 13,400 mAh power bank is promised to have enough power to recharge your device as much as you need to while you’re out and about.

The bag also features a waterproof shell and zippers, a quick-adjusting strap, RFID protection, and a battery indicator on the top.

Gotta have one? You can preorder it now for $119.99 (regularly $129.99). The black bag will ship on January 18th, but you’ll have to wait a little longer if you order the yellow or navy bag. Note that they won’t be shipping until March.

We have to know… would YOU pay over $100 for this powerful little fanny pack?

I don’t hike so I wouldn’t get much use from one if these but either way they would have to give new the $100 to wear a fancy pack, regardless of what’s in it. I thought they were goofy the first time around 🤣

    • Amymae1100

Unless the fanny pack comes with an editor, in which case I do apparently need one.

      • Ms. Frizzle

        LOL

The Coach brand sells fanny packs for that price- which I would consider!

      • Amykay

        Lol!

I think I’ll stick to a regular usb charger that I can already charge mostly anywhere but it’s a cool idea. The other issue is I always forget to charge both my phone and the battery pack so I don’t end up using them. I can see this working for hikers and walkers.

  3. Ariberry

I would like this however it’s not very stylish looking . It looks kinda ugly IMO

  4. Clippy

It would have to slim up a bit for me.

  5. Alex

I would pay $100 dollars for it if and only if it was made out of gold.

    • Jeff

White or yellow gold, which you prefer? 🙂

It looks like the Hunter Target fanny pack from last year. It would have to be cuter and more stylish for me to get. It just doesn’t look like it is worth more than $100. I can carry my $20 battery kit in my regular free Eddie Bauer fanny pack and do just as well.

  7. J

Great for outdoor athletes, especially these hikers who are often getting lost.

    • Dee

This. You could fall in a creek or get caught in a storm, but your phone would be protected. I can see the value. One rescue and that $100 looks like a smart investment.

  8. Naayomee

I just bought a solar powered battery pack from Amazon for less than $25. I wouldn’t pay for that fanny pack but some people will.

  9. Tracey

When I look back at photos of me wearing my fanny pack back in the day – umm, no thank you!! Not a great look IMO haha. 🙂

  10. pjane

No. It is future yardsale material. I cannot eat it. 🍎

  11. Jamie

Nope! And I’m a milennial whose generation is notorious for trying to bring back this kind of stuff, and integrate anything into our technology. 😉

  12. Rachel

Not sure if I would feel comfortable with anything with that kind of “power” around my waist/stomach area 😳. Especially if it’s charging my phone.. but that’s just me 😬

    • Gege1804

Lol I thought the same. Too close to everything the things being emitted would be something to think about…

  13. Deedeebug

    No indeed

  14. Elissa

Do you even have to ask?? We are all money savers here- so the answer is HECK NO! Lol

  15. Gisette

Yes, but with Any sport or outdoor activity, such as hiking, Cheap clothes, shoes and accessories are a big No. imo 😉You want quality products, not dollar tree crap that Will fall apart on you🤣

  16. Lase

    Nope!

  17. Aa

No. So funny to see Danny packs agqin though.

Also have a ? Is anyone a member of Opinion Square. I did surveys for about a year and redeemed for a $25 gift card. When it never arrived I sent a inquiry and they just respond the program administrator has to approve the order and after that they will send it. So this has been nearly 2 months. I keep getting the same response from them. I wondering if I have been ripped off.

  18. savvyshops

Unless it says Gucci I’m not paying $100 for a fanny pack lol

  19. Jake

For about the same price I got a Dewalt jacket that can use a power tool battery. It can charge my phone and also heat the jacket on cold days, so I’ll stick with that. The only down side is with all the wires running through it, I can never wear it through an airport; I’d look like a terrorist.

  20. nita

    No.

  21. sara

never! i can just see the huge tumor growing in my belly. May also cause reproductive problems for people who may be pregnant or become pregnant. I wouldn’t even wear something like this so close to my body if they paid me! So dangerous to have so little info about the dangerous effects of electrical devices and our bodies! I wish they would show studies of how this was tested on over 1,000 people over 10 years and no ever had problems before they just start marketing things like this to the general public and then causing terrible health problems in the future. Maybe they could add some kind of thing that would block the EMFs from touching the body. That would be worth it
