Do you have CVS rewards that are about to expire?

CVS has announced that they will reissue ExtraBucks Rewards as a result of the coronavirus pandemic.

Starting April 10th and running through May 22nd, CVS will begin reissuing expired ExtraBucks Rewards. Note that ExtraBucks Rewards will not be issued all at the same time, but instead will be release incrementally during that period.

If your ExtraBucks are set to expire anytime between March 15th, 2020 and April 30, 2020, and they have not been redeemed, they will be reissued to you. You will then have 30 days to access your rewards and 30 days to redeem them through the CVS Pharmacy app, CVS.com, or in store.

In addition, CVS CarePass Members who have a monthly $10 promo reward with an expiration date between March 15, 2020 and April 30, 2020 that has not been redeemed, will also have those rewards reissued as ExtraBucks.

As a reminder, you can redeem points online at CVS.com. On the checkout screen, select ‘Apply ExtraCare deals & rewards’ under the coupon code box. Easy peasy!

Hmmm… CVS. My birthday is in a few days and I’m wondering what “gift” they will be sending me this year. Last year, they sent me a coupon for a free bottle of fingernail polish. It’s hilarious that was their gift to a man. But, ridiculous that it was for a product not even sold at my local store. Gotta love their craziness – LOL

My gift last year was ice cream

How would force printed ECb work?

    • Stacy F (Hip2Save Sidekick)

I’m honestly not sure about that, Amber. You might be able to contact CVS customer care and have them reissue it manually.

        Thanks!

I ended up just going to use it today to get some food, snacks, and personal items. I didn’t want to deal with calling and hoping lol.

Good luck trying to call cvs customer service their office seems to be closed like most, I’ve tried emails and no dice, so hopefully it will be a smooth transition for everyone’s EB also care pass$$. They said it would take a few weeks but thats all we got now time, they also are supposed to put signs up saying no shopping unless it’s for essentials. They also want everyone to wear a mask but workers are supposed to be wearing masks and gloves and only 1 did I questioned everyone including management and all I got was excuses???CVS isn’t limiting number of people going in and I still see workers socializing. Stay safe everyone!!! I LOVE MY CVS❤️

could that be why all my ecb from my online order last week disappeared out of my account? i have no ecb in my account and was to get $35 from my order

    • Dorothy

I haven’t gotten extrabucks for 2 of my online orders and I have tried emailing with no luck. So frustrating!!!

  8. VB Vee

If memory serves me correctly, Kelloggs sent an email saying they will not be expiring points….starting around march 25th.

OMG!!! You just made my day!!! Thank you so much for sharing!!!

    • Collin (Mrs. Hip)

Oh good! You’re most welcome! Glad this was helpful!

  10. Elizabeth

Thanks. I emailed them twice this week about this and didn’t hear anything. I am happy about this news.

  11. Nora-Lee

Also, if you have carepass you have free shipping on no minimum on some items. I had ECB that were going to expire, found something I needed that also gave me EB and voila, free shipping and I was able to roll my ECB

  12. muquee

I emailed CVS customer service in regards to expiring EB 2 weeks ago. No response received. Rite Aid simply extended Bonus Cash Rewards another 30 days. Much simpler than waiting for CVS to reissue (IF).

    • Pam

I’m in the same boat. Reached out to them weeks ago and got nothing. I agree the simplest solution would have been extend the life of the paper bucks and skip this frustrating and needless process. What do we do if our ECBs aren’t reissued I wonder? And DON”T bother asking a store employee because they are NEVER told anything by the higher ups. I hope somebody out there is listening. Rant over.

Oh how I have a love/hate relationship with CVS. I am a carepass member and my $10 carepass ECB’s are always issued on the 14th of the month. Well I didn’t use my the $10 carepass reward that was issued on March 14 and expired yesterday and it is gone from my account as well as other ECB’s that expired this month. I would feel better if I could see these expired ECB’s in my account with some kind of notation. This may just “do me in” with shopping at CVS all together. I feel like my relationship with them has been way too much work and aggravation to keep track of their errors. They have the worst software system ever.

    • muquee

SueJo, I mirror the love hate with CVS. I can get some good deals but it is a LOT of work. Been considering washing my hands of them for sometime. I actually did about a year ago but then got sucked in several months later when I could get some EB with no out of pocket $. It’s even more difficult to maximize using ECB since Hip2Save isn’t even posting online CVS deals (and using coupons you can save to card). I get they do not want to encourage people to go into store, but CVS has drive up and online (ship free for carepass members). Match ups and good ECB deals would be helpful for both of those ways of shopping CVS.

      • SueJo

muquee, YESSSSSS!!! Same!!!! Every time I think I’m going to quit, they send me free ECB’s that I can use with coupons to get free stuff. The addiction is real!!! However, Hip2Save is weening me by not posting the matchups. I have not shopped at CVS since the matchups have stopped. I wish they would start doing that again too, so I can start using my ECB’s again!!!

    • muquee

And yes, you are right, poor that customer has to watch for all their system errors.

  14. Tina9222

Suejo, my $10 didn’t show up at all but I think they are keeping track of these and expired EB. I got a few notices about expired my EB being extended already. Just keep the old ones handy and have the day your $10 goes in monthly written someplace safe for future reference. Hope this helps. I agree about a lousy system.

  15. TJ

Are the mailed coupons going to be honored if their expiration date is past?

  16. Cj Lapp

So are these eventually added or do we have to call customer service? I’m confused.

  17. Sue

My two expired (4/16 & 4/18) & unused ExtraBucks Rewards have been reissued today 5/8/2020. check your e-mail from CVS or CVS APP.

    • SueJo

Yes, mine too! In fact one of mine from my CarePass expired on 3/14/2020 and I didn’t think they were going to reissue prior to 3/15/2020. But that was one of the ones reissued today!
