These jars are extremely popular for being multifunctional and BPA-free. They can be used to store pantry goods, make an unlimited number of craft/DIY projects, or use for decoration. My personal favorite is making yummy overnight oats, but the possibilities are truly endless!
Note that these do not have the 2-piece lids you need for preserving.
This could be your opportunity to snag a few jars to make a personalized Father’s Day Gift or have some fun with DIY decor. Check out a few ways Lina uses her mason jars!
The ones at Dollar tree are glass, correct?
Yes, they are!
Great, thank you 🙂
Can you use these for canning or are they of inferior glass?
Well, they said in the post that the lids are not canning lids. Beyond that, it’s from DT, so I wouldn’t really trust their products in the microwave, let alone under pressure.
Oh how I miss dollar tree
Dollar tree has stayed open here in PA
Hey with these mason jars you could make diy pregnancy belly balm for expectant moms here’s the recipe: https://blog.motherslounge.com/2020/02/28/diy-belly-balm/
Please don’t. Canners are having trouble finding supplies due to the run on them because of COVID-19. People are trying to put up food for their families. Wait a bit and then try these great ideas when supplies have leveled back out.
Thank you!!! I was going to say the same thing.
These don’t even come with lids that can be used for canning
Canning lids are not reusable so even if the jar doesn’t come with a canning lid, most canners have extra lids for these jars.
These are not for canning, they are too thin and real Ball or Kerr jars just say mason. These say perfect mason Ball. Do Not try to put these in a pressure cooker they will explode. If you want to have a fun way to use them all these things you can find at Dollar Tree. I make solar lights. Things you need…ball jars, solar lights, colored rocks. Fill the jars up halfway with colored rocks add water and take top part of solar light and put in jar. They are absolutely beautiful at night.
Why the water in your solar lights? Just for decoration? I don’t want my lights any heavier than need be as I hang them from stakes.
I wish they sold the lids only, you can’t find the screw on lids for mason jars like this. The Amish stores in Iowa used to sell them, now the lids they sell are plastic.
