Everyone will love these easy-to-make buttery Spritz cookies!
Last time I used my cookie press, I made these cream cheese butter cookies (recipe HERE), and wow they were YUMMY. I loved the buttery soft texture and highly recommend using the simple recipes that come with the press. In fact, there’s a little recipe booklet with several recipes, and I want to try the gingerbread one next.
These delicious homemade cookies are easy to decorate using cookie frosting and sprinkles, too!
My mom actually gifted me this OXO brand cookie press last year and I LOVE using it so much!
It comes with 12 different disks you can swap out for various shapes and holidays. The nonslip grip of the handle is high quality just like most of the OXO brand kitchen tools I have. The directions were super easy to follow out of the box, and I had no issues using the press the first time I opened it!
And a quick heads up — this post is NOT sponsored! 🙂 My mom knows how much I love to bake so this was the most fitting gift to receive, and after one use I knew I had to share it with you all!
You’ll enjoy the easy process when using this cookie press.
All you have to do is make the dough, fill the press, and then press out the cookies on a cookie sheet. When you pull the lever on the press it makes a clicking sound to let you know it pressed out the perfect cookies!
Pressing them onto the pan is the most fun part! If you have kids participating, this is an exciting step to help with.
Hip Tip: Consider making a few types of dough ahead of time, and chill it a day or two beforehand. Then you can just pull it out of the fridge and create numerous shapes and types of cookies all at once for an epic cookie plate, or have cookies to package and give away as gifts.
The bake time is about 12 minutes, and then you can transfer the cookies to a cooling rack and decorate them. I had no issues with the cookies sticking to my pan, and I love how seamless this process is.
If you are wanting to make lots of cookies at once, this OXO cookie press is the way to go! It’s faster and easier than rolling out dough and using cookie cutters. The cookies turn out delicious, and this cookie press is a win-win all around!
Here are all of the reasons why I love my OXO cookie press:
- Baking cookies is a breeze! There’s no rolling the dough needed, or cookie cutters involved. Pressing consistent beautiful cookies goes quickly and is so fun!
- There are lots of disks with different designs that can be used for Christmas or year-round!
- Spritz cookie dough requires just a few ingredients and no chilling time.
- The mechanism itself is easy to load and so fun and satisfying to press cookies onto a cookie sheet.
- These cookies are easy to decorate with sprinkles and the dough can be dyed in different colors.
- The OXO cookie press is completely dishwasher safe and the disks are easy to wash. I just ran the disks through warm soapy water and placed the press in my dishwasher.
This would make the best gift!
The OXO Good Grips cookie press set would make an awesome gift for yourself or for anyone who loves to bake! I would have never thought of buying something like this for myself and love that I received it for my birthday. It’s now something I can use in the kitchen while making some baking memories at home with my family.
Here’s how to bake a giant cookie cake for much less than Mrs. Fields!
I use a similar recipe for my Spritz cookies, but add 1 tsp lemon extract also and skip the cinnamon.
Oh nice! I bet that’s yummy too!
Can you make any sugar cookie recipe with this? Or does it specifically have to be these spritz cookies?
Oh you probably can, just consider it’s best to get the correct not too soft, not to hard consistency for it to EASILY press out which these recipes seem to have.
These are so much easier than having to decorate sugar cookies. You can make chocolate and peanut butter varieties too. I like to add a candied cherry half in the middle of the “flower” design.
Don’t waste money getting one you have to plug in. The cheaper versions actually work better.
I agree so easy! Thanks for sharing 👏
Spritz cookies are little pieces of Heaven on Earth. I have a friend who owns her own unique business. Her family has made spritz cookies for years and because of her love of them and her wonderful memories of baking with her mother, she started her own business designing and manufacturing disks. She has made it a science to perfect her disks and recipes. She has so many more varieties than the big companies….in fact, over 200. You’d be supporting a small, woman-owned, family business that manufactures all their disks in the U.S.A. https://www.impressbakeware.com/ . I own the OXO press and her disks are also compatible with it. I haven’t checked out her press yet, but if it’s like anything else she does, it’s perfection. She also has a blog with tried and true recipes and step by step instructions on just about every kind of spritz cookie you can imagine https://creativecookiepress.com/ . I absolutely adore her cookies and love how quick it is to make her yummy cookies. We’re making her glittery snowflakes spritz cookies as a family this weekend! I don’t own any part of the business nor do I receive any compensation for sharing this. I just wanted to share how much my family and I love her recipes and disks 😉!
Oh nice – thanks for sharing! Have fun making the snowflakes! 😍
Thanks! They’re my husband’s favorites (and the kids love them also). It’s rewarding family too 😉. Have a wonderful and safe holiday season 🎄.
Wow, you are right! Her disks are beautiful and it says they are compatible with the OXO press. I am going to buy some of hers. I am so impressed and i can’t wait to make them for Thanksgiving, Xmas, etc etc. Thank you!!!
