Just wanted to share a bad experience I recently had with lowes, ordering Stanley’s, so you can watch your orders.
In December I placed an order for gifts. Unfortunately, I did not realize the pickup location auto defaulted to one that was an hour away versus the one closer. With work I wasn’t able to pick up before closing times and I figured they would just cancel order after not being picked up, like every ogre retailer I’ve ordered from. After 2 weeks, I get a call from a female associate at the store asking how satisfied I was with my purchase. I told her I wasn’t able to pick up because I didn’t realize the order defaulted to the one over an hour away. She said ok and hung up. 5 minutes later I get a text that my order was picked up. I figured it was a formality, then they refund order. Nope. I was charged the $100+ for the order of Stanley’s. I called several times and manager was never available. I talked to associates and explained that I never picked up and someone from store called and after I told her I wasn’t able to pick up, she marked as picked up. They said they would leave message for store manager. Never called back. I called the 1800 # and besides if being extremely difficult to understand, they didn’t care, said I had to call the store. After a ton of calls to the store, I finally got an associate who understood, checked order, and was able to refund it. It should not have been the nightmare that it was. And they seemed to not care that an associate marked the order “picked up” and probably walked out with it. I’m never ordering from them and I hope people are vigilant with their orders from them.
So sorry you had to deal with all of that, Laura. That sounds incredibly frustrating, especially during the busy holiday season. Thanks for taking the time to share your experience here. It’s definitely good to know to keep an extra eye on which store the order defaults to at checkout, since that can be easy to miss. We’re glad to hear it eventually got refunded, but agree it shouldn’t have taken that many calls or that much effort to fix. Appreciate you pointing this out so others can keep an eye on their pickup details! 💗
I ordered a stainless steel Cirkul bottle this morning for $13 and already picked it up! While there, I picked up two 9 ft wheeled Christmas tree storage bags for $9.99 each (marked down from $39.99)! I’ve been looking for those and was so happy I checked out the clearance section! I had a bad experience with Lowe’s. I always pay my bills on time and I get an email stating I was late on my payment, but I never received the bill. I contacted them. They said that the bill was sent to my email which it was not and that I was on paperless statements which I never signed up for I ended up having to pay a $30 late fee plus interest. I’m just warning others Lowe’s is not what it used to be.
