Boppy Newborn Loungers Recalled Due to the Risk of Infant Death
Know anyone with this baby lounger? Spread the word! 📣
The U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) and The Boppy Company have announced a recall of Boppy Original Newborn Loungers, Boppy Preferred Newborn Loungers, and Pottery Barn Kids Boppy Newborn Loungers.
Sadly, there have been eight reports of infant deaths associated with these Newborn Loungers between December 2015 and June 2020. The infants reportedly suffocated after being placed on one of the loungers now being recalled.
This recall involves all Boppy Newborn Loungers. Boppy has sold about 3.3 million of the recalled loungers since January 2004 at multiple retailers nationwide including Pottery Barn Kids, Target, Walmart, Amazon, and more. These products were sold in a variety of colors and styles and measure about 23 inches long, 22 inches wide, and 7 inches high.
Consumers should immediately stop using the recalled loungers and contact The Boppy Company for a refund. The company can be reached toll-free at 800-416-1355 from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. ET Monday through Friday or online.
