The Shutterfly class action lawsuit has reached a settlement.

The class action lawsuit against Shutterfly LLC has reached a settlement and you may be entitled to a payout of up to $25. Customers who made a purchase at a discount from an advertised reference price on Shutterfly.com are eligible for a payout if they shopped between April 1, 2018 and August 25, 2023 (provided they have not yet returned or received credit for the item).

There is no proof of purchase necessary to file a claim, but you must do so by February 5, 2024.

Eligible customers were sent an email from “Rivali v Shutterfly, LLC” informing them of the class action lawsuit and subsequent settlement. The bottom of the email includes a unique claim number and pin that you can use to submit a claim.

If you did not receive an email, don’t fret! You can still submit a claim online. Here’s how!

What was the Shutterfly class action lawsuit about?

The settlement is a result of a lawsuit where the plaintiff accused Shutterfly of participating in deceptive advertising. The plaintiff alleged that Shutterfly offered customers inflated and/ or “phantom” discounts by using fake original reference prices in their ads. This led to the plaintiff having an increased urgency to buy due to the suggestion that the items were on sale.

Shutterfly denies any wrongdoing but did agree to the settlement and you can read the full settlement documents online. If you have additional questions on the case, you can inquire via email to info@SFDiscountSEttlement.com or by phone at 888-691-8270.

I previously received the email but just submitted my claim after seeing it posted on Hip2Save. Any idea when we can expect to receive our vouchers?

    • Jessica (Hip Sidekick)

Great question, Ashley. I found this on the settlement site for you – “When will I get my Voucher(s)? As described in Sections 17 and 18 below, the Court will hold a hearing on February 9, 2024 at 1:30 p.m., to decide whether to approve the Settlement. If the Court approves the Settlement, there may be appeals. It’s always uncertain when the appeals will be resolved, and resolving them can take time, perhaps more than a year. You can check on the progress of the case on the website dedicated to the Settlement at http://www.SFDiscountSettlement.com. Please be patient.” Hoping it gets resolved soon and your voucher sent shortly after this date. 🤞❤️

  4. Rebe

Thank you for this information. I have a couple of questions in case anyone know the answer. I placed 4 different orders during that time frame, always because they had a promotion but no way for me to remember if it was because “an advertised reference price on Shutterfly.com”. What happens if I submit a claim in good faith but turns out I am not eligible? I want to make sure there is not a penalty or something similar. Also, what if I submit multiple orders, is this one claim per household? TIA

    • Amber (Hip Sidekick)

You’re welcome, Rebe! These are great questions. You could always reach out to be sure on those details –
