Did you realize canned biscuit dough can be used to make pretzel bites? Yes! And let me just tell you these are so GOOD. They are actually kinda hard to stop eating. Not only do they look like pretzels, they taste like them too.
The secret ingredient for making these taste like pretzels is a 30-second baking soda bath in boiling water. After baking, they taste like a chewy pretzel. I was a little skeptical after seeing this idea on Instagram, but super excited to try them out myself.
The biscuit pretzel bites hack works brilliantly.
I am so impressed with how ours turned out and am excited for you all to try it too. The texture is chewy on the outside and soft inside. I added an eggwash to the top along with everything bagel seasoning instead of salt for a great variation!

Small pieces of dough transformed into pretzel bites using water and baking soda.
Ingredients
- package of 8 Grands biscuits
- 1/4 cup baking soda
- 1 quart boiling water
- 1 egg, whisked
- 2 tablespoons everything bagel seasoning
Directions
1
Preheat the oven to 425 degrees. Prep a sheet pan with parchment paper.
2
Open the biscuits and cut each into 4 pieces.
3
Bring about a quart of water up to a boil on the stove. Slowly add the baking soda as it tends to bubble up. Dunk the pieces of biscuit in water for 15 seconds on each side and transfer to the sheet pan. It helps to use a slotted spoon.

Use a kitchen brush to apply egg wash to the tops of biscuit pieces. Sprinkle with everything bagel seasoning.
5
Bake in the oven for 8-9 minutes until they are browned and cooked. Enjoy with mustard or dipping sauce such as cheese dip.
Tips for making biscuit pretzel bites:
- Try serving these with a cheese sauce. I dipped them in white queso dip from Trader Joe’s and that was awesome. You can also try them with a grainy mustard.
- Leftovers can be stored in the fridge for up to a few days in a covered container. Consider reheating in the air fryer. Yum!
