I can’t find any rooms available for .01 Please tell me what I am doing wrong. Looking for a room in VA. Thank you for all your help!
just so people know, i got a room for a penny on Friday night, however, the staff was infuriated about it, and were very rude to me about it. One of the ladies at the desk (as I was checking out) ran after me after I left, and told me that there was no way I could stay there for a penny. I explained that the deal was advertised online, and she said “no, not here… not at this location, you are not doing that to us”. I was pretty upset that she responded that way! She told me, “well, i’ll let you get away with it this once, but it’s never happening again.”
I’m considering writing a letter to corporate, because of the way she treated me. However, I know I can’t complain too much, as I got the room pretty much free. I hope noone else has this experience!
I got a room for a penny for last Friday night. After tax, it was 14 cents. It was a good deal, but I would have been very disappointed if I paid full price. Their non-smoking room smelled like an ashtray! Even my 3 year old said “this place is stinky” as soon as we walked in. I won’t be staying at a Red Roof Inn again.
Thanks Collin! We got a penny room (it really was just $.01- no tax!) and had a fun mini-getaway. Our Red Roof had a pool too, which the kids loved! When we checked out, the front desk person told us that Red Roof is making hotels participate in this penny promotion, but they are not getting reimbursed… so that may explain why some chains are being rude about it. She also said that many chains are refusing to participate, so that may make it more difficult to get a room!
