I am not a fan of credit cards because of the potential for racking up lots of debt. However, I am convinced that it may be worth signing up for the Victoria’s Secret Angel Credit Card because of the awesome rewards that you receive in return.

Here are some of the perks of being an Angel Card member:

*Surprise birthday gift each year that your Angel Card is active (usually a $10 gift certificate)!

*You’ll shop the Semi-Annual Sale before anyone else!

*Earn 250 points on your Angel Card and you’ll be upgraded to the Angel VIP Card PLUS you’ll get a $10 reward!

Once you are upgraded to the Angle VIP Card, you’ll get the following additional perks:

*Double points on each and every bra purchase.

*Receive $10 rewards for every 250 points you earn!

*Free beauty samples and makeovers and special little gifts twice a year (exactly what these little gifts are is not specified on the web-site)!

*Invitation-only access to local store events.

AND the best part– According to a Hip2Save reader, you will also snag about 50 coupons per year for FREE panties! This fact alone makes me want to jump on the phone and apply…who wouldn’t like a year’s supply of FREE panties?! I contacted Victoria’s Secret and talked to over 6 associates, but no one was able to specify the number or type(s) of coupons that are mailed to Angel Credit Card members throughout the year. (So please keep in mind that I am just passing on information that I have not been able to validate). Click here for more details and to apply on-line.

Are you a Victoria’s Secret Credit Card member? If so, let us know in the comment section below what sort of rewards and perks you have snagged since becoming a member!

I haven’t used mine for a couple of years and they definitely stop sending many coupons. I get maybe 4 a year and a $10 off one for my birthday but it has to be used with the card. Not really worth it for me. It was great for the first year when they sent a lot of coupons.

    I had a card years ago…ten or more…cancelled 5-6 years or so ago…

Began getting offers in my maiden name at my mom and dad’s house where I never lived about 2 years ago, totally random!!! I get them pretty much monthly, always get it and use it…have a good stockpile and will probably start using then every other one for me and one for my 13 year old since she is getting name brand consious and put them away for a great stocking stuffer when they are appropriate for her!!!!

I have thought about signing up in my currernt name to to try to get more, but scared the social security # might catch me and they will stop coming to my mom’s so I think I will get dh to go get a card since he doesn’t have one and try to double up that way!!!!

I got a VS credit card over a year ago, and I honestly don’t really think they are worth it.
Initially, I got TONS of coupons, and that was great – but there has been less and less coupons as times goes on. Besides, you can get a lot of coupons through pink nation and by giving them your e-mail when you buy something in the store. I would say that the extra free panty here and there isn’t worth having one more credit card to keep track of and worry about. If I could do it all over, I wouldn’t have got the credit card. In fact, I’d cancel it – but they always say closing accounts is bad for your credit.

  4. Barbie

I joined the pink nation and give my email address each time I shop at Victoria’s Secret. I get the card for free panties at least 6 times a year, maybe more. I would love to get more coupons and freebies, but I can’t justify having the card to worry about. I don’t trust myself to be reasonable!

    • Nicole

I agree with you. I think the only thing I’m missing out on it the birthday coupon. I’ll probably survive. I’ve already gotten at least 2 free panties this year without the card.

I do have a card… a zero balance … all of our ‘cards’ have a zero balance… and I LOVE the free panties! monthly it seems!! *The sales girl usually doesnt make me use my VS card.. but if she does, I will charge on it… and then just make a payment in the next transaction!!

  6. BeccaAnnAuD

I love my VS card. I frequently save more than 50% by combing offer codes, secret rewards, sales, and coupons I receive as a VIP Card Member. I have received 4 free pairs of panties since December! Thats almost one a month. I pay my card off every month and don’t regret having it.

  7. Sara

I wouldn’t bother getting the card if you are mostly interested in the free panties. I get the free VS panties and Pink panties cards under 3 different names at my address and under 2 different names at my parents’ house (so 5 free cards every time they do this, I’ve gotten about 15 free panties in the last few months alone).

So next time you place an online order with VS, just put it under someone else’s name (your dh, your dd, etc.) so they have another account besides you for your address.

If they no longer send you coupons, you can call the number on the back of your card and request that they send them out to you again. They do! Many websites also list the coupon codes for the free items if you order online. It is worth it to me because I like Victoria’s Secret. I am in Pink Nation too. I get tons of freebies and $$ off coupons.

SOrry to go off subject a little but I just wanted to mention another card I have liked…Pottery Barn/Pottery Barn Kids/Williams Sonoma. It is the only “credit” card I own and I pay it the day I get it in the mail. But, they offer a great opening bonus… plus about 4 times a year, they send out a coupon for $25 off a $50 purchase. I always wait until I get the cards to buy something.

  10. Maria

I like it. I get about a dozen free panties a year plus all of the coupons and the birthday $10 gift card. I also belong to pink nation and get all of thier free stuff too. Plus, usually on the free panty coupon there is also a code for $10 off a bra. I usually find a bra on sale, if I need one. Otherwise, I walk in, get my panty, and walk out. 🙂

I used to work at VS, so signed up for a credit card to boost my own number of people I got to sign up for credit cards. It sucked for me because I wasn’t allowed to use the coupons, but you get a pretty fair amount. They send coupons to different groups, so to maximize the amount of coupons you would want to be a card holder, sign up on their website to get catalogs, and sign up on pink nation. I haven’t used my card in a couple of years, but still probably get 12 free panty coupons a year (and you can stack your birthday coupon and a coupon for money of a bra- always a part of the free panty coupons- to get an almost free bra at least once a year).

  12. Christina Close

I am VS card holder. I don’t like credit cards either but have kept this one when I have cancelled all of the others. The coupons are totally worth it! I think 50 sounds like way too many but I’d definitely say 12 to 15. I get a free panty coupon at least once a month. Thanks to Jess for the idea on the birthday coupon and $10 off coupon. I didn’t think you could combine those.

I LOVE LOVE mine, I have had almost 8 years now, I still get lots of coupons AND since Collin post such good deals during the holidays I ended up getting lots of points and they sent me at least 2 $10 giftcards in the last 6 mos. I get emails all the time from them for being a valued member with codes for free shipping and free returns. I had 1 bad experience in the store with extra charges on my card, which was addressed with costumer service. Not only did they immediatly fix the problem they fedex a $20 gift card to my front door, 48 hours after talking to them! I enjoy all the free stuff/coupons and you can always find a code for extra % off if you are a card member. We are debt free and this is the only CC I have and will keep for a long time.

The main reason I have a VS card is so that I can take advantage of the coupon codes available online. Many of the codes can only be used with a VS card. I don’t receive as many coupons in the mail as I did during my first year, but that’s okay with me. My biggest problem is how they “conveniently” increase your credit limit every six months — mine is currently at $1,800! Now why in the world would I need $1,800 in credit for VS? That’s insane. The APR is also very high — 22.8%!

LOVE my angels card! i love the free 10 dollar coupons that i get quarterly! and the TONS of free panty coupons as well as free fragrance items and i recently got a free bracelet!!!!

  16. Jennifer Rauterkus

I have only had my card a couple of months, but I have already recieved about 7 free pairs of panties, along with loads of other great coupons and 2 gift cards.

A little off topic, but I went to VS yesterday to spend my rewards card and was told I could not use it on clearance merch, as it states on the card cannot be combined with any other discount or offer. I asked for the manager and she said she would put it through just this once, but that the rewards card must be used on full price merchandise. Is she correct? I have another rewards card to use, has anyone used theirs to buy clearance merchandise online?

    • Kanda

I used mine online and purchased ONLY clearance items. I had a $50 relwards card and got a bra, pairs of Undies and a swim suit! Total cwould have been 150! Shipping was 10. But I didn’t care! It was free too becuase I had money left on the card!

      • Kanda

Ah sorry my five sticks….should read 5 pairs of undies!

    • Nicole

Depends what kind of rewards card you mean. Like the ones you get when you have a coupon from your credit card, no they can’t be used on clearance merchandise, but the “secret rewards” cards from August should have been okay. Probably depends on the sales person.

  18. Tara

Anybody know when they are gonna do free shipping online again???

    • Nicole

They always have it for orders over $100.

    • Tere

They always have free shipping. You need to look up Victoria Secret Coupon codes online and you will find tons of free coupon codes. I usually combine it with a tier code which takes $15 off $100, $30 off $150 and $75 off $250 and a free item (free panty, bag, flip flops, make up bag, etc…).

I just recently got a Victoria’s Secret Angel Card, I usually hate credit cards, but this one saves me so much money! I spent the $250 balance right away so I could get upgraded to VIP status, and while the interest rate is high, if you pay your whole balance each month, you do not have to pay any interest. Plus, I have already saved so much money. The first month, I got $15 off any regularly priced Angel’s bra (so I only paid $23), and those are my favorite anyways. The second month, I got $15 off any push-up bra; I always free shipping, and they’ve already sent me 2 $10 gift cards. Plus, yes, you do get loads of free panties, and early access to sales. It’s totally worth getting this card, and I am NOT a credit card person.

  20. Collin (Mrs. Hip)

I got a card last black friday after considering it for a while and I’m glad I did. I always use coupons and try to combine them with rewards and sales. I now get twice as many offers (for some reason I get it to 2 names now…) of free panties and have gotten about 5 or 6 this year already. I also enjoy the free coupon book you can get for signing up that has a special coupon for each month (free deluxe panties w/ purchase, $10-15 off bra, etc). You can quickly and easily request a booklet every 6 months by calling the number at the back of your card. If you get a nice cashier they will let you use both the $10 off a bra (often included with free panty coupons) and your angels rewards coupon (just tell them it is technically a reward for being a member). Occasionally some will even let you use a rewards card on top of that (the one you get every 250 points you accumulate). I am trying to build my credit and hoping that paying my small balance will help. I have gotten a few of their new bras (that I usually wouldn’t consider purchasing) for cheap: new Naked bra – $25, angel’s push up – $8, body by victoria racerback $20, etc. Definitely a great card to have if you are selective about what you purchase and always use coupons (plus their site is great for purchasing previous season clearance merchandise that is heavily marked down).

  21. Anna

The reward cards you get for spending $250 are double dippable. You can use it online and in-store.

  22. alejandra

in order for you to get alot of free panties call customer service and get enrolled in the Store Offers..this is a totally different program u need to enroll on it separately..it does suck since i have a year with my card and i never used to received these and i called and they sent them the following month..if u constantly go in vs.com and see the offer codes u would totally save about 50 in an order …u could also combine ur 10 off coupon ( 250 points) with clearAnce and specials…i love VS and i use my credit card alot…

  23. Carrie

what do I do with my points that I have?do I use them in Victoria’s stuff?confused
