Also, CVS finally released an online Corporate Coupon policy on 9/9 that is available here. Unfortunately, CVS no longer accepts coupons on “free” items, so please note that the deal scenarios listed below will reflect this new policy change.
You can also go here, click on the second “Answer” link and see that it states “Note: Coupons cannot be applied to a “free” item.” I take that to mean that you can no longer use a coupon on a free item in a Buy 1 Get 1 Free sale 
. You can only use one mfg. (and one CVS applicable store coupon) for the item you’re buying.

Hi everyone! I’m new to coupon-ing and just today opened a CVS Extra Care Card! I was wondering, can you could combine your extra care bucks? For example, today I bought a gallon of milk (received $1.00 ECB) and Excedrin (received $.99 ECB). Can I combine the ECBs to receive $1.99 off of my next purchase?

Yes you can combine them. Just make sure to check the expiration dates if you are saving them up.

Yes! Sometimes I pay almost my entire total with ECB (several combined together) and just have to get a little change out of my wallet to pay any difference! Welcome to couponing!

I could be wrong but I think you are limited by the number of items you buy. Example I don’t think you can use 5-$1 Ecbs to get 1 $5 item. The number of Ecbs can be no more than the number of items purchased….. Again I could be wrong.
You can use as many ECBs as you want at CVS. You have to pay the tax w/ cash (at least in my state). Walgreens has the item to cpn count rule, not CVS.

…SO why did my ECB NOT print???? Manager told me my total after all coupons still had to be a@ $10!!?? Is this right? I just returned them all since I refuse to pay 1.89 for toothpaste – there are so many better deals out there!
not sure why but my Colgate sensitive deal worked ($5 off$ 10 purchase), even after coupons; however, my optic colgate tp deal did not work. cashier just made one for me. Know your frustrations though…next week hopefully it’ll be better.
Overall, I have to say the Manager was very nice about the issue. I still however am a bit puzzled. Oh well, like another reader said “you win some, you loose some” 🙂
if my extra care bucks didn’t print and i knew i purchased the correct participating products..i would call cvs and they just send it to my card. it happened to me twice so far.
did you buy the right size? sometimes people don’t buy the right size and it won’t print.
Yes, it was the same exact toothpaste/size as on the picture!… I tried it 1 time -didn’t work -the manager said I had bought the wrong one (2/$7)..I returned them.. Manager took Me Herself to the isle and showed Me the right ones! Went back to the register, She rang me up again- Still NO ECB!! She than Said it was because the total after all coupons had to still be at $10! So I returned them as well:(
what a pain! but she’s wrong about the total after coupons…but the whole process is a pain, all that for toothpaste…sheesh.

I did this exact same deal. My ECB did not print, but I was only charged $1.99 each for the toothpaste. So they still ended up being free after $2 coupon.
anyone else have issues with Buy one, get one half off deals? Especially in using a BOGO coupon I have recently noticed that CVS is not giving me the benefit and only taking off the 1/2 off item. I even had this issue the other day with their own store coupon and the BOGO starburst coupon when it was on sale for $3.69/1 or 2/$6. The first rang up as $3.69 and the second at $2.31 and they would only take off $2.31. I was frustrated but since I was able to use (2) $1/1 coupons on top of it I wasn’t about to argue. Just wondered if others have this issue and what they do?
I am new to couponing and have a question about CVS ECB’s. When getting an item that offers an ECB with a limit of 1, can I go back later and get another one or is it 1 ECB for the length of the offer? Does this make sense?
You can defintly go buy the same item again, but you won’t get the ecb’s as it is limit one unless you have more than one cvs card. Hope that helps!
when you say more than one cvs card, does that mean i can use mine and get back ECB’s and use my husbands and get back ECB’s or is it just one ECB back for an item with a limit of 1 per household?
No, I mean 2 different cvs cards. Hope I didn’t confuse you. 🙂
You can use other people’s cards and get more extra cards to print, even if they live in your house. I use my moms, dads and sisters all of the time, and it always works. This way you get to take advantage of the great deals and get more extra care bucks.
You just have to make sure that you use the same card the extra care bucks printed for, when you use the extra care bucks from your husbands card, otherwise they won’t let you use them. Because the receipt with the extra care bucks are tied to the card you used when you purchased the items.

There is a $1 coupon on cvs.com (on the little rotating ad, the 3rd page) for the Colgate Optic White Toothpaste, and its a CVS q, you could use this with the $1.50 manufacturer q, and with the $1 ECB you get, it would be a .51 cent money maker!
I used the $4 off $20 but then it wouldn’t allow me to use the $1 CVS Colgate Optic on top of the $1.50 manufacturer’s coupon. The computer read, “coupon limit exceeded”. Does anyone know about this?? I purchased 2 other products without Manufactuer’s coupon or CVS coupons. I’ve been a long time shopper at CVS and it’s never done that before.
