I just copied this from the discussion on Amazon about the oil:

    Araminta says:
Pura D’Or is a disreputable company. Most of the 5 star reviews are not verified amazon purchases, meaning they were planted by employees. Josie Maran has a superior argan oil and does not need to plant phony reviews to get people to buy her product. Watts also makes a very good argan oil very close to the quality of Josie’s, and it is less expensive.

I’m not familiar with the oil, or the brands, but I thought this was worth noting since it is so opposite the surface reviews. Has anyone ever used this stuff? My daughter has eczema, and nothing I’ve tried so far works. I’m really trying to avoid going the steroid route. Thanks for any help anyone can give me!

Have you tried coco butter? I use it on the bac of my arms at first I would put it on and wrap my arms I would put a lot of since I did have dry skin back there I would exfoliate first then to this I also used saffoil oil (found at ur local market) my arms are smooth now every nite I use coco butter

try coconut oil, my mom has been fighting egzema her whole life and just tried the oil and said its amazing. trader joes has it cheap or Collin posts lots of deals on it on here.

      • stacy

ill have to try that too!! thank yoiu

      • greta

We’ve tried that, and it helps a little, but not enough. Thanks for your reply though!

Josie Maran is expensive. I have used edible argan oil on my face, neck, decllote, and hair for years. I pay $25 for an 8 ounce bottle.

      • Barb

Where do you buy it at – 8 oz for $25?

    • vicki

my daughter has eczema too and when it was at its worst we had a lot of nights when she’d wake up crying and scratching(bleeding) do this topic hits home for me. i’ve never tried argan oil(though i’ve heard raved about for naturally curly hair) but coconut oil (or coconut mixed with straight shea butter (we used NOW brand from our local amish grocery)) helped ease the discomfort and didnt sting like most mainline products did for her.
But, what has actually been the ONLY THING TO HELP IT GO AWAY, was to give her fish oil, cod liver oil, or flax seed oil! OMEGA 3’s are more likely to actually fix the problem not just the skin irritation…oh do i wish the doctors and allergists we saw would look past the skin to find the source of the problem.
before she was 2, she’d happily take(ie: beg daily) a spoonful of cherry flavored cod liver oil (twinlab brand) but after that, i couldnt get her to take it…thats when the eczema got really bad! so i started spiking chocolate milk with flaxseed oil and also added a kids probiotic and within a week, it was visibly better and two weeks, gone! whenever we slack on the flax seed oil, it gets worse until i get it in her a few times. works great in smoothies or ice cream too.

give it a try. it cant hurt! -helps develop brain cells too:)

(i got my initial understanding of eczema from Karenhurd.com under health topics. Karen is my mom’s pastor’s wife and a very highly regarded nutritionalist) …no i dont work for her.

vboos @ hotmail if anyone wants more details (or pics to prove)

      • greta

Thank you so much! I’ve been trying to sneak flax seeds into things for awhile but they get stuck in in your teeth so we’ve been slacking. Have you ever ground them yourself? I have a bunch of whole ones to use up. I will definitely try the oil, and mixing the coconut oil with shea butter. She complains of stinging with just about everything, and straight coconut oil is “too slimey” and not effective enough. I really appreciate the help!

glad to share what has worked for us…i cant tell you how long i spent scouring the web for something that would work(i actually feel sorta bad i dont have a blog or somewhere to share our success story …if it would just help one person it’d be worth the hassle but i havent done it yet)

yes, my food processor and magic bullet do a great job grinding flax seeds. i’m sure other things (even a stone and pestal might work) would probably work great too.

i don’t use ground flax seeds in as many things as i could(forgetful i guess) but yes, sneak them in wherever you can! (which is almost anywhere, oatmeal, mashed potatoes, use it to coat/bread veggies or meats instead of bread crumbs or flour, sprinkle on ice cream or buttered toast or in sandwiches, mix into baked goods, etc) yeah, writing this is a great reminder i dont HAVE to go the easy route and let her have chocolate milk just so i can get the flax into her.

isnt the stinging horrible? i always feel so awful since i just slathered something on that’s now causing pain…especially when its something that doesn’t wash off easily with water. poor kids! i’m amazed at the number of excema creams that cause this even. a friend of mine gave me the tip for mixing the coconut oil and shea butter…with a kitchen mixer/beaters…whips up sorta fluffy almost. ‘melts’ on contact with skin and doesn’t end up so slimey when mixed, but also spreads better than straight shea. i now use it for a moisturizer too…even on my face.

This earrings are .01 cent on amazon and 6.95 for shipping.

    • Debra

The $0.01 Amazon earrings are cute, but are not White Topaz, they are, “Sterling Silver .925 Cubic Zirconia Stud Earrings Set in Basket Settings, 2.00 cttw”.

  3. Carol_R

Thanks Collin. I ordered 2 bottles.

If you want fab hair use keratine – u don’t want wrinkles get botox

    • Aleshia

Keratine can make your hair fall out and is toxic, Botox isn’t really a big deal, but if you can go natural without having to pump a bunch of chemicals in your body you are better off.

      • stacy

not all keratin products are toxic fyi

  5. Maia

I saw the same Argan oil at TJ Maxx for $10.

  6. Brittany
