Those blue bags are awesome – really big and strong. I used several when I was moving, and also for when I go to the laundromat. My daughter (away at college) also uses hers for laundry. (IKEA coffee is really good, too!)
So do you have to be a member to shop there
No;)
No, you don’t have to be a member. But if you join IKEA Family (free, quick and easy – you can get a card at a kiosk in the store), you get some nice perks described in the post above!
Ikea is far from a member only store, rather grab the flat box of furniture off the shelf and put together yourself, yes they do have small put together household products too.
Ikea DOT com has info on the membership.
Everytime I shop at IKEA and I get to the “warehouse” (pick-a-part) portion it reminds me of the future. LOL! Even the check-out. People pushing carts and flat beds through rows of giant boxes … No bells, whistles, decor, color, etc., just some kiosks and a cold utilitarian vibe. Love the store though. Weird!
Ok thanks π I’ve been wanting to go there forever just haven’t
I had never thought of the futuristic part, and now I can’t un-think it! ;p
Love free breakfast & $1 cinnamon rolls every Monday & kids eat free Tuesday!! Only restaurant out kids know π Best coffee too!!!
π
Anyone know when this event starts? If we were to go around noontime the breakfast and stuff would probably be unavailable huh?
My store has the breakfast until 11:00 am. And there are sooo many blue bags available every year, I don’t think they would run out early!
The bags are available at anytime for around 70 cents.
The closest ikea is about 4 hours from me but my mom and I made a trip there last year to go to this event. We had tons of fun but we always have fun at ikea, for us it’s an entire day of entertainment.
I was originally planning on going to Ikea the weekend before this event, but now I am reconsidering. Was it worth battling the crowds? Other than the free coupons, did they have good sales throughout the store? How crowded was it??
Thanks for your input!!
So glad you posted this, we were headed there to buy new beds for our toddlers!!! Thank you!
We were going to get our boys new beds too. Even more reason to go on the 7th now!
LOVE ikea! The $.99 breakfast plate is always free before 10am, but is so much better w sausage gravy & biscuits on top π free coffee w a Family card, too!
The blue bags have so many uses—last spring they worked well when I was transplanting garden flowers & hostas. East to drag/carry around the yard and just hose the bags off to clean up!
π my store never participates in these things π
I love, love, love the frozen Swedish pancakes from the food marketplace at Ikea. It’s a nice size bag that has several folded Swedish pancakes inside, and you can reheat them individually or all at one at a time if you are feeding a crowd. I gently microwave them with a dollop of lingonberry jam!
I am temporarily grain-free trying to get my acne, rosacea, and arthritis under control… they are at the top of my list when I get back to eating wheat!
Thanks for the info on the BYOF… we did happen to be a lucky $100 gift card winner a few years ago at this event. Our local store also did free chair massages for the event, so by going to the event, I got a free breakfast, a free mini massage, and a $100 gift card (that I had to pick up at a later date). Love ya, Ikea!
