Calling all you craftsy Hip2Savers! You may want head over to your local Home Depot store to score two great deals on Chalkboard Paint Kits! I spotted the Martha Stewart Chalkboard Paint Kit for ONLY $7.54 (a $34 value) which includes 6 oz. chalkboard paint, erasable liquid chalk, utility brush and 16 stencil designs! And I also spotted the Home Decor Chalk Starter Kit for ONLY $7.54 (a $34 value) – it includes an ultra matte chalk finish, wax and 2 brushes.
Before you make a special trip, you may want to call your local store to confirm that this special buy is available – I was able to find these at my store in Boise, Idaho and reader, Sandra, spotted this same deal at her store in Norfolk, Virginia!
(Thanks, Sandra!)
It was the same price in Louisville Kentucky I picked up two of them.
Cool! Glad you could snag them April!
Can you post tge upcs please? I just called my store and they will only tell me if they have it if I give them the upc.
From the website:
MStewart kit store UPC is 1001519930
HDecor kit is 1001520454
Thank you!! I didnt even think to look online.
Also, keep your eyes peeled for 7.54 kids paint/wood toolbox kit. The paint is the same stuff they use for the kids builds and it retails for 25 online and claims they aren’t available in store, but for sure I have seen them at 2 stores in my area.
Great find Ashlyn! Thanks for the heads up!
Found them in my Home Depot
Does anyone know how the less expensive wax brushes work? I’m having a hard time paying almost $100 for two Annie Sloan brushes, not to mention shipping. I need to paint a large mirror. Thx
I’m about to try them now with the wax since 2 came with the kit. I already used them with the paint and liked the round one for its coverage. I gave in yesterday though and splurged for the Annie Sloan brushes after lots of reading reviews on others.
Okay so I just used the round brush and wax in the kit and it worked quite well. It was a flat surface. Only downside were a few bristles came out but those came off easily using the same brush to scoot them off the side. Loving the wax vs the polycrylic sealer I just used on a chair. It is MUCH more forgiving to streaks and correcting for an even coat.
Thanks so much πΈ
I’m not very crafty, but I’m trying to be lol! Can you give me some project ideas to use these on? Thank you! βΊοΈ
Side tables, mirror frames, accent chairs, etc. I’m doing a hitch cabinet right now. A great thing about the chalk paint is it can be applied to most surfaces without sanding and priming exceptions are surfaces with a waxy coat on top or a bunch of gunk stuck to the surface. That would have to be removed first. *Chalk paint and chalkboard paint aren’t the same. Chalk paint is like a latex paint (that you may paint a bathroom wall with). Chalkboard paint is for making chalkboards.
where in the store are these located?
For me they were in a cardboard box aisle display across from the wood stains and spray paints.
Yay! Another Norfolk hip2saver! π Thanks for the heads up on this, Sandra! I’m definitely going to Home Depot tomorrow to grab one of the chalk paint kits. Also, thanks for the clarification on the difference between the two types of paint. It helps an inexperienced DIYer like myself.
Yay love locals! Thanks I only know because I decided to get into the furniture rehab fun with chalk paint so I was reading a lot of Pinterest so why not share. I thought they were the same until a few days ago ! π
Both of these are marked at $10 at my Home Depot in Las Vegas.
However, they rang up for $7.54!!
Awesome!
Couldn’t find it at our Home Depot near Phoenix; checked on-line afterwards, this message:
Product Not Sold In Stores
Darn it! Which store? I’m near Phoenix too
They have 13 of them in the Vista, California store! I’m grabbing a few for gifts for my daughter’s friends. Girls between the ages of 10-13 love chalkboard stuff and to be able to make their own will be awesome!
