Happy Friday: Teacher Survival Kit
Sent from reader, Jennifer:
A friend invited me to a coupon group about three years ago. I was told about your site as a way to clip coupons and save. What a blessing!! I wanted to share a recent project. My cousin just graduated college with her special education degree. I knew she would be getting a lot of gift cards and I wanted to do something different. With the sad budget cuts the state of Oklahoma is going through, I knew she would have to pay out of pocket for classroom supplies and decorating. Through all your deals, I have a coupon item box in my spare bedroom.
I put together this first year teacher survival kit to get her classroom ready in the fall! I typed up a poem and listed all the items and what they can be used for! I included a glade scent warmer, extra gum, stickers, glade spray, wipes, candy and several sample items! It was super fun and I think she will really enjoy going through everything! Thanks for all you do to help families save money!
HAPPY FRIDAY!

What a clever idea! I’m sure she will greatly appreciate it!
This is awesome. You’re so thoughtful! 🌻
Such a great idea! So thoughtful and I’m sure it will be much appreciated
Wow! You are great! 👍
Awesome!
As a veteran teacher I can say this will be a hit!!
I love the dryer sheet tip! I’m totally going to try it!
That is an awesome idea. I would love to receive gifts like that during those years of teaching.
Hopefully she gets a job where she can use the Glade! We can’t use it at our school. Its a Health Department No-no. And once it starts warming up, it gets stinkier and stinkier… We can use essential oils though! 😉
This is awesome! As a special education teacher myself, I can confidently say that she’ll be able to put this to good use. Great idea!
Wow, great idea…good thinking
I will start a project to make one for my niece’s teacher. My niece will start school in kindergarten in the fall!
Very cute! I make something similar (I don’t have a cute poem like you!) for our winter-holiday presents for our kiddos’ homeroom teachers. I also include a small amount on a gift card to a place I know they’ll get themselves something (Starbucks, outdoors shop, BB&B, etc.). I usually use a milk-crate-file-folder for the ‘basket’ so that they can use that somewhere in the classroom/at home for papers, etc. I have been able to make it look pretty ‘gift basket-y’ by using shred, tissue paper, cellophane wrap around it and a big bow made of wired ribbon at the top too.
