Happy Friday: Cat & Jack One Year Warranty
Sent from reader, Lina:
I just wanted to share that I had a great experience at Target exchanging Cat & Jack brand pants that had a hole in the knee after three months of my son’s wear. The brand is supposed to have a one year warranty – that’s what I read when it came out. So anyway I took it in, and had no problem just exchanging for something similar of equal price. I no longer had my receipt, but I was still able to get a new pair.
I just wanted to share because I hate it when a favorite pair of clothing doesn’t hold up!

Same experience here! The uniform pants we bought my son were not holding up (Cat & Jack) so Target exchanged them for similar Cat & Jack pants (no receipt, either). 🙂
If you don’t have the receipt do they take your license like they do for a non receipted return?
I had been noticing that brand from target is well made. Great to know they stand behind there item. Thank you.😁👍
You’re welcome Lisa!
This is good to know! I love their stuff for my kids.
Always been impressed with this brand! Thanks for letting us know
YW!
I was just wondering about this because my son’s uniform pants are showing some wear in the knee and I no longer have the receipt. I’m glad they honor the 1 year warranty, even without a receipt. Thanks for sharing! 🙂
You’re very welcome!
What does their warranty include fading, tears? or just tears?
Dang!! I just tossed some leggings of my daughters that got a hole in the waist band & a pair of pants that the crotch seam tore open. Does this apply to their shoes as well?
I was actually just wondering the same thing about the shoes!
Online under the shoes item details-says it covers shoes too.
Thank you for this reminder! My son has holes in 2 pairs of school pants and I totally forgot about this warranty! Thank you again!
You’re so welcome! Glad to help!
Thanks for this reminder! My sons uniform pants just got a huge hole in the knee. I no longer have the receipt, but i am going to try to exchange them tomorrow.
You’re very welcome Allison!
My daughter’s legends ripped at the knee. I couldn’t find a receipt so I turned them into bike shorts. Now I know to exchange. Thanks
You’re welcome!
my daughter leggings kind of fading …
I don’t think fading is covered but I guess I could be wrong.
So good to know! My daughter came home from preschool with a hole in her pant knee and they’re only a few months old! I am taking them back, thank you!!!
Those of you taking them back for knee holes – do you mean gradually worn out knees from crawling around while playing or tripped-and-fell and ripped the pants? My 7yo has somehow ruined two pairs of pants in the last couple weeks but it seems like falling would be outside of the normal wear and tear covered under a warranty – thoughts?
I wonder if the same applies to shoes. My daughter wore a pit of boots I bought two days before Christmas and has only worn them maybe three times….and they look like she’s had them for years! ):
Yes, it does. I just bought a pair of Cat & Jack snow boots I found on clearance yesterday for $10, and the tag says the boots have an one-year warranty.
The leggings and pants seem to be well made, I don’t have child that is rough on her clothes. I have only had an issue with a sweater we purchased, it did not hold up well.
I am upset about this brand. I probably bought 6-8 pieces from this line for my son this past Christmas and I have had problems with about half. One pair I had to take back because after the first wash there was a hole in the seam, the second pair I had to sew after a month for a hole in the leg seam, and now a third pair of pants has a hole in the actual leg(not on seam). I don’t believe I will be buying any more Cat and Jack brand.
I bought a bunch of cat & jack stuff back in August because of the guarantee. I returned a couple pieces in December with no problem. Today I went back with returns (including receipts and tags) and was told Target doesn’t accept anything back after 90 days, regardless of the brand. (!!!) And basically they told me to prove what I was saying was fact. I searched and found that Target apparently isn’t making that guarantee anymore, at least it doesn’t say it on their website. I put up a fuss and ended up getting a gift card for the amount, but seriously???
I am also writing about the cat and jack brand. It does not hold up bought 5 pair of pants in December already tore out. It’s like the material just comes apart. Love the style but it does not hold up.
I was excited to hear this but my store requires a receipt to return cat and jack shoes. Anyone know exactly what their policy is? Their shoes looked super old after wearing them just a few times.
Hi my name is Maria and I bought a backpack for my daughter in August 2017.
And the zipper now doesnt zip. How can i do it to change it? I bought it at Target.
Just did some research. All exclusive brands for Target have an extended one year warranty. You must have your receipt, unless you bought with a Red card.

I purchased a size 7/8 Cat and Jack black soft denim type jeans. I also bought the exact same , but shorts. The shorts fit fine , but the pants are too tight at the waistline! Why is this? They are both the same size and style! Does anyone have advice on how to get ahold of the company, or who may be necessary to speak to regarding this issue? These pants are brand new still. She was only able to wear them 3 times. She still wears the shorts!
Did this policy change? A friend said they told her you now have to send it to the manufacturer.
In the past few months I have bought two pairs of toddler size 8 shoes for my son. Both pairs broke within just a few weeks of wearing them. The first pair- the elastic “shoe lace” broke off and the second pair- the velcro came unstitched from the shoe.
