Sent from reader, Donna:

I live in South Florida. After 5 days of being inside due to Hurricane Irma, these kids had to get out of the house! Thanks to fellow Hipsters, I learned of clearance sales on school supplies at Target and Walgreens. We were able to buy everything pictured including over 200 folders, over 130 spiral notebooks and 12 backpacks for $26.42!

The best part was that the kids each pitched in with their own money! They are very proud to be able to donate to kids who were impacted by Hurricanes Harvey and Irma.

HAPPY FRIDAY!

Hi Julia, your local Boys & Girls Club can always get school supplies into the hands of kids who need them!

    • Donna

Hi Julia, my kid’s school was collecting toiletries, hygiene items and school supplies for people in Houston. The Miami Dolphins were arranging to get the donations there and to those in need.
I expect that those affected in Florida are also in need! However, it’s too soon for the Florida Keys right now! They’re still assessing the damage and in the recovery stage. It’s so very sad!!

Beautiful idea…Where can these donations be sent to?

    • Truth

Check to see of a local school has adopted a school affected. It’s highly discouraged just to send stuff randomly right now. I can vouch that they are literally taking clothing donations straight to the dump.
