Anyone have these
I have similar. I like
Them!
I have this set. I bought it from BJs for about this price. I like them because they are perfect for my needs. I don’t cook much, so I rarely use these knives. Instead, I have a small paring knife that I used to cut up fruit or other minor tasks. I can’t justify spending hundreds of dollars for knives that get used maybe once every four month. That said, I’ve read online that the paint can chip with use. I’m not worried about that (or blade dulling) because I just don’t use them frequently.
On the other hand, if you are a serious cook and can afford it, I would get something higher end. For example, my mother loves cooking and she would detest this knife set. She prefers Henckle (sp?) knives. Evidently, Henckle knives with two men on the logo is better quality than the ones with only one man on the logo. Who knew?
It all depends on what your personal needs are.
We have Henckel knives and love them. About 2 years ago, my mother gave us a set similar to the ones above and we set them aside and did not use them for several months. I mean . . . Henckel, why would we use anything else. Well . . . my mom persistently asked each week if we had tried them out. I finally relented and after making a snarky comment like, “I’m going to use these janky knives tonight so that I can get it over with and tell her they’re awful. Color coded knives? Really? I wish she would have saved her money!”
Knife snob much?
Plot twist!! Love, love, love my knives! Even if the knives are at the bottom of a mountain of dirty dishes, we willingly and feverishly go spelunking for them. Meanwhile, the Henckels sit gathering dust. We use the purple and orange (chef and paring) knives several times a day. They are as sharp as the first day I unwilling put them into service with no additional sharpening. Still no chips to the finish even with a 9 year old who thinks that putting dirty dishes in the sink should mimic SLAM-dunking a basketball.
I love mine. Very sharp after a year of usage.
So awesome that it’s held up so well for you after a year! Thanks for the feedback, Tabitha!
I have three of these knives and I love them . I use the purple one three times a day 😊 have sharpened them with faberware knife sharpener and the color is still intact . I was expecting he colors to chip but I’m surprised .
I have this set and love it. They still look great after over a year. I do hand wash them instead of putting them in the dishwasher.
