I ended up picking one up at my local Aldi a couple of weeks ago for just a couple dollars more.
Just a heads up on the ones from Aldi…they are not US Coast Guard approved life vests like the Stearns and other brands are. They are good for the pool but we go boating at the lake so all kids have to wear a Coast Guard approved vests at all times. I’m glad I checked because I almost bought one…just wanted to pass that along!
The starfish one here ships in 2 days! When I changed it to the crab it said delivery in July. So some had a delay but not all. So you should be able to get one by next week 🙂

What is the difference between these and a traditional life jacket? I see kids at the pool and don’t get it. How do they work?
It’s similar to old fashion floaties, except it’s around their chest too. My daughter prefers this to a regular life jacket. She says it’s easier to move.
My kids both have used these, and they like having the floatation around their chest too. My daughter has done well learning the basics of swimming without fear of sinking when she pulls away from me. We picked ours up on clearance for around this price at target the year before we planned to start using them. They’re great!

I discovered these over 7 years ago after spending money on other expensive yet inferior options. Puddle jumpers are the best money I have spent for our kids’ water safety. Of course, they still require supervision. We have expensive life jackets, which obstruct the kids’ abilities to swim easily in a pool. Our youngest learned to swim this year, yet she still asks to wear the puddle jumper in the deep end when she’s tired. Btw, she’s wearing the hand-me down puddle jumper from my purchase 7 years ago. Caution: Please make sure your child is strong enough to balance upright before using these.

i have one of those puddle jumpers and its been passed on from kid to kid, I bought it about 9year ago and the color is a bit faded but nothing else, and it has been used multiple times, i currently use it with my 2yo and its great.
I love the Puddle Jumpers. So much more comfortable than regular life jackets.

Costco has speedo brand for around $15 ! It also has shoulder support for the little ones who are on slimmer side
