Be careful on this. In our flexible spending account, we can only submit receipts for over-the-counter medical purchases if our doctor has written us out an actual prescription for each item. And that Rx must be submitted along with the receipt for the item. This would require going to the doctor before I buy a box of bandaids or requesting that they write out 20 different prescriptions in anticipation of my over-the-counter medication needs for the year. I can see asking my doctor to write a prescription for something used all the time such as heartburn medicine or the contact lenses but she would surely balk at a request for a bunch of items.
Thank you very much. I had 33$ left on my FSA. I checked the list of things i could get without a doctors rx. was able to get some mini first aid kits, and band aids (with a 7 year old we go through alot of bandaids!)
Oh good! You’re welcome! My kiddos go through a lot of bandaids too! LOL!
Dont forget EBATES !! its 6% right now at Walgreens.
I have better luck buying with FSA if I check out at the pharmacy. You will be able to double check if it applies if FSA is written to the side of the item on the screen. .
