What on Earth..? Red card holders are not eligible to earn the additional 1% back???

    • Mrs. G

That’s what I’m thinking? They aren’t going to give loyalty rewards to their most loyal customers- red card holders??

    • Laura

That does not seem right. 🤷🏻‍♀️ I’m a Redcard holder too. 🤔

    • Allison M.

Maybe it’s their way of reaching those of us (yes, me) who don’t want their red card but are still loyal customers (again, yes, me). 🤷🏻‍♀️🤷🏻‍♀️🤷🏻‍♀️

      • Laina

Can i ask why you don’t want a red card?I am strictly curious, since if you are a loyal shopper, you are missing out on savings.

        • Melissa

I don’t want a red card bc I use cash only. Cash only helps me spend less overall, so I’m saving more than 5%.

          • Claudia

You can get the red debit card. It is like writing a check but you save the 5%. There is no annual fee, you just present a voided personal check when you apply for it. It withdraws the money like
            2 days later.

The Red card is already a better deal. Think of that 5% off as 5% back that is immediately applied to your purchase. Cardholders wouldn’t have to make a second trip to redeem their rewards.

This reward program would give back $0.50 on a $50 purchase. Red cards get $2.50 off a $50 purchase. Cardholders are five times better off than the rest of us.

Very true. It’s just fun when the money adds up with programs like this and you get to come back later and “spend” it. 😂

  3. Emily

Basically seems like a birthday reward to card holders! So yet another perk to thank target for!

I live in DFW, so I joined this program recently. Not every rewards program is for everyone, but this is great for those that don’t want or need a Red card. Since I have a Red card already, I’ll just keep using that for my 5% back on every purchase…except now I’ll get a free bday gift and I’ll pay it forward by giving my votes to my local children’s advocacy center here. What’s not to love? 🙂

Target Circle(preciously Target Red) has been in DFW for quite a while now. I haven’t been too impressed. For example, my birthday reward was a coupon for 15% off one kitchen appliance, and another reward was 20% off curtains. Both were very disappointing.

    • Peaches

Thanks for letting us know what we were “missing” with regards to the birthday reward. Now I don’t feel so envious. I’m quite happy with my 5% thank you very much!

    • Rachel

That’s IF you even get the birthday perk.

Not available in my area yet!

I always have to remind myself that loyalty cards like this with a heavy privacy loss- data mining. Tracking every move you personally make in the store, literally. To study every purchase made and if you read the Red card fine print, they will sell any of your personal info to 3rd parties and you can’t opt out ( when last I checked). They don’t need your private health info, it’s tracked by every cream, ointment, contraceptive choice etc. The most valuable info is what is gathered on todays children as that will get the most future traction. No judgement, as I too have many of these cards. I’m just way more thoughtful these days. 🌞

It says Charlotte area and I am considered part of the Charlotte area but it’s not available to me. I guess they are only doing Charlotte proper not the outlying areas of the county.

  9. Sara

I’m in the Kansas City area; but not in KC proper, it says it’s not available to me.

  10. Becky

Doesn’t reward the red card holders. Makes sense.

  11. Lisa E Wiese

I am curious if our votes we have for the non-profits expire. I cannot find the answer.
