Kids II Recalls Over 690,000 Rocking Sleepers (Bright Starts, Ingenuity & More)
Kids II is recalling all of their Rocking Sleepers just a week after Fisher-Price announced that they would be recalling their sleepers.
Over 690,000 sleepers are being recalled due to fatalities caused by infants rolling from their back to their stomach while unrestrained, or under other circumstances while in the sleeper.
The Kids II Rocking Sleepers were sold under the Bright Starts, Ingenuity, Taggies, DreamComfort and Disney Baby brands at major retailers from March 2012 through April 26, 2019. If you purchased one for your little one, you should immediately stop using it and contact Kids II for a refund or voucher.

If parents actually follow the instructions and restrain the baby, the baby wouldn’t be able to roll over. No matter what companies recall, no one can fix laziness or stupidity.
I’m sure you were a perfect parent that never made a mistake. You should consider thinking before you speak. People lost their baby.
I think common sense should have a little more common sense to be considerate that parents did lose their child, however, s/he is right that if the child was harnessed, there should not have been any suffocation.
i did purchased one of these “recalled” products because i received a notification from amazon. surprise surprise, i used it for 3 kids, and no one was able to roll over when i put them in. guess why? i buckle my kids in every. single, time. even if just for 2 mins for me to go pee. i’m not perfect, but i actually have common sense. i don’t sugar coat things – i tell it like it is. and sometimes the truth can hurt.
however, what do people expect? when people blame everyone else for something that was CLEARLY preventable, and expect everyone else to take responsibility, they should look at what they could have done first. not who they can sue. yes, people did loose their baby. but if they did what they were SUPPOSED to, there’s a very high chance it wouldn’t have happened.
its like a car company recalling all of their cars for seat belt issues because some teenager was speeding, hit a tree, and was ejected because no seat belt on. yes, people loose their lives, but reality is, it’s probably not the company’s fault.

I completely agree. People are so quick to blame someone/something else.
And if you had some common sense perhaps you would have read the details related to the latest deaths prompting the recall and seen it was not solely related to restraints or parent misuse, it was also about how it positions a child. But, take your chances I guess.
They wrote it like “deaths like rolling over and other circumstances” so you would think deaths were due to improper use or something not product error. But at least 10 of the 30+ deaths were due to the position the sleeper puts the baby in which can block their airway.
Many of these babies died due to positional asphyxiation—like when a baby’s head slumps forward or down to the side in a car seat. Or how years ago babies were dying in those sling carriers that they stopped making. It wasn’t just because they’re rolling over.
But as someone mentioned in the last post about this not all the babies died from rolling over, it has to do with the position of the child and didn’t always have a connection with them not using restraints. The same reason they do not recommend letting your baby sleep in a carseat too long. Apparently it affects their breathing.
As someone who friggin LOVED this for my 2 boys I’m all for recalling something that can be unsafe. My boys were fine and I really only used it like 2 months but some babies snug their chin down and suffocate. It was promoted for sleeping but some babies died. I don’t get why some people are upset about recalling it or refusing to get rid of them.
Right? I wouldn’t even take the chance if I had knowledge that it could be unsafe. I’m sure those parents wish they could go back and make that informed decision.
Sometimes I feel like these things are posted for the drama.
