Here’s a Hip Tip for making the best hot apple cider:

  • Use a piece of cheesecloth to easily wrap mulling spices such as cinnamon sticks, whole clove, orange rinds, and whole nutmeg. Then you don’t have to strain your drink.
  • Try Torani salted caramel syrup for the caramel component to this drink! I tried it, and loved it for this easy slow cooker drink.
  • Feel free to first DIY your own apple cider if desired. I found it quicker to buy prepared pressed apple cider to avoid cooking, mashing and straining apples. But it’s easy to do by following these helpful homemade apple cider directions I found.
  • Love a hot spiked cider? Easily turn this recipe into a hot cider cocktail by adding alcohol! You can mix in spiced brandy or rum as a couple of ideas. How perfect to enjoy with the adults while tailgating on a chilly day or evening!
  • Curious about these glass coffee mugs? They are such nice quality and are Anchor Hocking from Walmart. I love these for coffee and drinks like hot cider!

Crazy question, but how do we access our cookbook once we have saved recipe posts? I know how to access my Hip List, but I can’t see anywhere to access the Cookbook.

On my android phone, I click the 3 dots on the lower right side and it brings up my cookbook.

  5. Laura

I use a tea ball for the spices (except for the cinnamon sticks). Easy peasy.

  6. Gail

You say to use apple cider, but the picture shows apple juice, so which one?

Oh great catch Gail – you can use either, so I fixed the ingredient list to reflect that – thanks so much ❤️
