We love traveling on a dime! 🏝

Away is sleek, minimal, & highly sought after by trendy travelers, but you can shop these Away luggage alternatives on a dime that have just as much style.

Dreaming of some new Away luggage but can’t justify the cost?

Chances are if you’re here, you know just how sought-after these one-of-a-kind suitcases are, but even just a carry-on will start at a mere $245. And depending on what you’re after they can run you as much as $745. 😳 Gulp.

I will say, I’ve owned my carry-on for about 5 years and absolutely love it, but I fully realize these aren’t in everyone’s budget. So I’ve rounded up a few of the best options available online so you can travel with high style on a dime.

Here are the best Away luggage alternatives to buy right now:

1. Target sells Away luggage alternatives for under $100 in can’t-miss colorways.

In case we all needed another reason to love Target, this hardside carry-on spinner suitcase from Made by Design is quite possibly the most identical Away luggage alternative available, and one of the cheapest too. It even comes in neutral and muted tones exactly like the popular Away brand. 😍

My Hip sidekick, Cam, bought this suitcase before traveling to Hawaii last month and she said she seriously loves it! 🤩

  • Mesh pockets and zippered compartments
  • Can be checked or carried on
  • Best price

Here are the features we love about this luggage:

  • Top and side carry handles
  • Heat and cold resistant

5. This lightweight carry-on luggage has a USB port so you can carry a battery pack with you…just like Away.

While this suitcase may not come with its own battery pack, it does have a built-in USB port so you can bring your own battery pack with you. It’s also super durable and lightweight just like Away’s suitcase since it’s crafted with Polypropylene.

We’re patiently waiting for more colorways of the carry-on to come back in stock and in the meantime, you can scoop up one of their sets, which is still less than Away. Be sure to join the waitlist to be notified when it’s back (fingers crossed it’s before your next trip!).

I travel a lot for business ( million miler). After buying very high end including Briggs & Riley, Hartman etc. I always recommend buying luggage at Costco. Most warranties do not cover handles or wheels. Even if these break, Costco will take the pieces back. Also if you don’t need matching pieces, TJ Maxx has a great selection.

Thanks so much for the helpful recommendation, acgold! Good to know!โค๏ธ๐Ÿ™Œ

I scored a free set of Away luggage and absolutely love it! I bought luggage covers on Amazon to protect the hard shell from scratches and so far so good.

Wow! You can’t beat free, Margaux! That’s so awesome, enjoy!

My husband is a pilot for a major airline. The best luggage you can buy is TravelPro (https://travelpro.com/). High quality and they will replace parts if they ever get damaged.

If you are observant that’s what most airline employees use. ๐Ÿ™‚

Thanks for taking the time to share your recommendation, Betsy! ๐Ÿ’•
