At Hip2Save, we love Amazon Prime Day. That said, we’re not ignoring the logic behind ditching at least certain aspects of it. Here are some reasons why Amazon Prime Day 2024 might not be totally worth it.

1. Some things just shouldn’t be shopped for in July.

Are Prime Day deals worth it? Not always. It’s important to know the best times to shop for items year-round. From food to baby products to home goods & even baking goods – there’s a science behind when to buy and stock up to get the best prices possible.

Luckily for us, Amazon Prime Day is just about halfway to Christmas so you might be starting to plan for the bigger purchases we expect to see mega sales on this year, such as savings on Amazon devices and smart TVs!

On the flip side, this might mean we need to practice patience for the best deals closer to Black Friday on items we might be trying to score for Christmas. Typically, top wish list items like toys, clothing, and some electronics will have the most anticipated sales a month later this year. But only time will tell!

2. Walmart is running a sale that starts even earlier than Prime Day.

In previous years, Walmart has trumped all the other retailers with their epic Walmart+ Week sales during the summer. In fact, last year their sale was twice as long and started even earlier than Amazon Prime Day. 😱

This year Walmart’s sale will run from June 17th – 23rd with hot deals and savings exclusively for its members! That means if you want to access deals, you’ll want to sign up for a membership ASAP!

Since we know Walmart is offering hundreds of dollars in savings, this begs the question…is Amazon Prime Day worth it after all? Again, only time will tell, friends!

3. Walmart+ is cheaper for a year than Amazon, and our Hip CEO loves the perks even more.

5. The lightning deals may not be worth your time. 

The reality is, that the really awesome deals will go fast and they don’t last long either due to the time they’re on sale or the quantity available. Obviously, if you can take advantage of these deals, it’s great, but will it be worth your time to refresh your computer all day just to save a few bucks?
