The notes take the lightest touch with your finger to make all different kinds of sounds, other keyboards for kids are actual notes that you must push for a sound, and for a one-year-old that is not always easy. The other great feature is the soothing sounds/volume that comes from this, even if the volume is turned all the way up it is still not that harsh, teeth-clenching sound.
